About this listen

Throughout history, men have used their wealth, power, and prestige to harass, manipulate, and coerce women to fulfill their sexual desires. Fed up with the "good ole boy" status quo, the Black Widow appears in Kansas City to avenge the women who have fallen victim to their male predators.

Fate throws PI Walt Williams into the path of the Widow as she exacts her vengeance on the guilty. Is the Black Widow a new cult heroine or a cold-blooded killer? Decide for yourself!

With each book so good in this Lady Justice series, it becomes ever more difficult to say something new. Walt Williams, now approaching his mid seventies is still fighting crime, but now with brother-in-law Kevin in their own private eye business since he left the police. It was supposed to be easy work, nothing dangerous, but trouble still seems to seek him out.

This time there's a killer in town until, that is, a second serial killer emerges, calling themselves the Black Widow, targeting abusers of women and children. And this killer has a lot of support from the public. As Walt remarks, not for the first time, not everything is black and white and sometimes the end justifies the means.

Well written with Walt at his reflective best, and recounted in first person by the narrator who truly becomes the elderly detective, George Kuch. Great characterisations, good stories, ideas to ponder and humour, too. Perfect pleasure.

Trouble seems to find it's way to my door.
