Summary
Do you get frustrated when you're on vacation and you can't make yourself understood ? Or maybe that you'd like to be appreciated by the locals and your family for making an effort? Maybe you don't want to come across as "that guy"; who thinks everyone should speak English? If any of these apply to you then keep listening....
I was that guy once. We went on vacation to Costa Rica, and in the more remote places we went, not a single person spoke English. I ended up miming things to bemused locals, or saying English words really slowly, and I felt really dumb, and by the end of the trip I vowed I wouldn't put myself in that situation again.
So I decided to create vacation phrasebooks. I speak fluent French, so on one of our vacations there I wrote down every phrase I used. What I said in the bakery, at the hotel etc. They are all in this book,
In large parts of France where they don't speak English, the reception you get in the restaurant if you say "Bonsoir, avez vous une table pour quatre s'il vous plait?" instead of mumbling in English, is night and day.
Imagine how you'll feel coming back from the market having bought some good stuff, speaking nothing but French, with your family looking at you in a new light.
- How to order a beer like a local
- What people will ask you at the car rental check-in
- How to book a table for dinner
- What the waiter will definitely ask you
- How to ask for a late checkout
- What people will ask you in supermarkets
- How to not get lost
- How to ask for the wifi code (hint - it's not 'wifi code')
- And much, much more
So what are you waiting for? What price confidence and an even better vacation, all for a few dollars? Go for it, hit the "Add to Cart" button, and start your (short) journey to confident French speaking.

Visit France without the stress of being lost!!
It is an incredibly practical audiobook tailored for British travelers looking to enhance their French language skills. It offers a wealth of useful phrases and vocabulary specifically curated for those planning a trip to a French-speaking destination.
As someone who loves exploring France, this audiobook was a game-changer for me. It reminded me of the times I struggled to communicate effectively while traveling in French-speaking regions. Chapter 10, "Directions," was particularly intriguing as it brought back memories of getting lost in unfamiliar places. The chapter's practical phrases and guidance on asking for directions helped me reflect on past experiences and how knowing these phrases would have made my trips much less stressful.
If you are planning a trip to France soon and want to speak more than bonjour in a conversation, pick this up already!!

Loved It!
We have plans of taking our daughter to France for after her high school graduation, and I can quickly tell everyone that this is a go to book for beginners who are looking to at least get their foot in the door with being able to understand French. I think the beauty of this book is the realism of the phrases and words you're being taught because they feel like everyday uses and not just filler words attempting to give the book credit! If you love to travel and see the world and not just to France, definitely add this book to your bookshelf!

Jadore this book lol
This book is highly accessible and user-friendly. The author presents the French language in a clear and straightforward manner, avoiding unnecessary complexities and jargon and definitely focuses on the things you would need to do on a holiday. The author employs an intuitive learning progression by having each chapter defined for a specific place such as a pub, café or supermarket (again all the places you would be on a holiday). Its narrated by a very authentic French accent so I expect its a French National that's done it. Well done to this Author this book should do very well indeed I suspect

Easy listen and engaging
Another great book by this author on learning languages. We are planning a trip next year, and listening to this makes me even more excited for that upcoming trip. The narrator had a wonderful voice, kept a good pace, and made the book engaging and easy to learn. The phrases were great and I know I will be using them during our vacation. I listened to the book while working, which always makes the day go by faster. Some days I don't have meetings, so finding awesome Audibles to listen to makes my day even better. I plan to play the book in the car with the family so that I'm not the only one who learns French when we travel!

French Learning Streamlined
This author basically curated an essential list of French sayings and phrases that are not only commonly used, but employ the most common vocabulary/words used in the language. This not only makes memorizing each phrase feel more substantial, but adds a sense of fun since you can more easily imagine using those phrases in a French setting.
The content is organized in a way that makes sense for the listener, and the narrator is both engaging and easy to understand. Planning on referring this multiple times throughout the near future!
