About this listen
Having survived his first year at Faebrook, all Rowan wants is to continue adventuring, learn more magic, and perhaps enjoy a nice apple pie every now and then.
Instead, he is swept into the political turmoil that seems to follow Morgana everywhere she goes. With assassins lurking in the shadows, dungeon dives growing ever more dangerous, and rumors of dark deeds going unpunished in the Fae homeland, it will take all of Rowan's ability just to survive.
Fortunately, he has his party at his side. Unfortunately, that means they're now in Tianna's crosshairs, and with the Fae heiress bent on Morgana's destruction, she will stop at nothing to see them fall.

The main characters have conflicts that do not always have simple solutions, however, Rowan knows who he is and his love for apple pie,
The narration was well done as usual by Pavi Proczko and he brings the world to life with a voice as engaging as the story itself,
If you enjoyed the previous books you should enjoy this one. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series,
Really enjoyable continuation of the story

On the negative side, the premise that a portion of the year is spent without teacher oversight seems absurd - how long is this work experience period anyway? Never has half a year (?) seemed so long!
All that said, I can’t wait until the next book in this series. It was after all left on a cliff edge!
An excellent story arc

By book 2 the main characters should have been well advanced their powers and displayed cunning intelligence and their supernatural abilities this book failed.
There were times I thought it was getting interesting only for it to fade away as the author rambles on about getting drinker eating fine food.
The storyline of Drune finding out Rowan was a thief before going to the academy was handled badly it started off as a promising storyline but like so often in this book it turned out to be a nothing burger.
The only character that showed promise was Duggan but again just fizzled out he started as a powerful caring friend ended up as the joker that no-one took seriously
The only way this book could be improved is to scrap it and starts over again.
The only way this book could be improved is to stert all l over again
