Summary
War has a way of following some people....
John Eric Carver and Shrek are a retired Navy SEAL war dog team, now living in the mountains outside of San Diego. Both man and dog thought their life was now settled, finding peace on the 40-acre ranch they had moved to. But life, and a mutated virus, changed all that.
Now, they have to survive a worldwide pandemic. Taking refuge in a nearby Boy Scout camp, he leads a group of teens and their parents as they are forced to deal with infected creatures that are rapidly consuming the world. Will John and Shrek survive another war, or will this be the end of the line for the SEAL team?

Very entertaining
As a fan of extinction cycle I like the spin offs and really enjoyed this one well worth a listen. Love Ghost/Shrek

fantastic
wasn't so sure about this spin off but this book could hold its own with the main EC series
well written with the disjointed narrative adding in lots of characters
stating book immediately !

Bad voice acting or poor direction…
The story is pacy and well conceived (if you can get over the over-night mutations) however either the direction or the voice acting is off. Too often sentences don’t end. They end!!! And people just don’t speak that way in the real world.

Really Good
loved it surprisingly good, made something unbelievable believable, simple storylines. I love the specific characteristics and lines of the animals. "I am Shrek, I always win".

Generic Seal dude but otherwise good story
Well written, good story and characters.
Generic ex mil seal dude (with dog) crops up in all too many books of this genre unfortunately.
Books 1,2&4 free but 3 costs. Made me stop at #2 :(

Enjoyable series opener
I enjoyed this one. The world building made it a little bit slow initially but it held my attention from the start. I’ll definitely be listening to the next one to see where the author takes the story. I found the narration a little intense at times, but it didn’t detract too much from enjoyment of the story.
