Summary

As seen on the Netflix documentaries Minimalism and Less Is Now.

How might your life be better with less?

Imagine a life with less: less stuff, less clutter, less stress and debt and discontent - a life with fewer distractions. Now, imagine a life with more: more time, more meaningful relationships, more growth and contribution and contentment - a life of passion, unencumbered by the trappings of the chaotic world around you. What you're imagining is an intentional life. And to get there, you'll have to let go of some clutter that's in the way.

In Love People, Use Things, Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus move past simple decluttering to show how minimalism makes room to re-evaluate and heal the seven essential relationships in our lives: stuff, truth, self, money, values, creativity and people. They use their own experiences and those of the people they have met along the minimalist journey to provide a template for how to live a fuller, more meaningful life.

Because once you have less, you can make room for the right kind of more.

Critic reviews

"The Minimalists show you how to disconnect from our conditioned material state and reconnect to our true essence: love people and use things. This is not a book about how to live with less, but about how to live more deeply and more fully." (Jay Shetty, number one New York Times best-selling author of Think Like a Monk)

soulful read

really loved this book! I enjoyed listening to Joshua's voice, they both presented the audio well. I like the fact the book came with a worksheet because I preordained it and look forward to doing the work. Good book that I can see coming back to re-read over and over!

The Preface Stops You In Your Tracks

Well July 13th, - here we are awaiting the drop! The Minimalist Love People Use Things has arrived - Yeah!
Lets get going no time to review because I am transfixed with the opener will review once digested, regurgitated and then re-ingested.

See you on the other side of what has started as an epic sequence of well crafted ideas and offers s a novel grasp of the links between everyday life and the necessity of LESS.

Life changing

I listen to the podcast but the book deals with the concept and message more in depth. It is 3am and I cant stop listening. I restarted my membership for this book. Worth the monthly credit!

Another great read from The Minimalists

Taking simplifying to the next level. It's not just about stuff, it's about life. Uncomplicating your life to live a more intentional and meaningful one, rather than existing miserably in a mountain of stuff, unfulfilled relationships and without authenticity.

Enjoyable and a catalyst for change.

I have been following these guys for a while now and they have brought so much wisdom to my household. We are in the process of ridding our apartment of unnecessary items. However, the book goes further and has really helped me understand my values and helped me create a family ethos where we can understand what we want in life and what's important. cheers guys.

I was hooked by the delivery and the rawness of the authors

I liked the premise of it, I appreciate a good “lecture” because I love learning and hearing from others. I also liked the fact that both men contributed to the book and shared their stories so freely. Most importantly it has reminded me of what is truly important and to dedicate my life to seeking it, nurturing and being grateful for it 🤍
Thanks Josh and Ryan

Outstanding

Loved it. I wanted to take my journey beyond the stuff and delve deeper and this book delivered. I look forward to hearing it again as it does need more than one hearing its so valuable and to be able to work through the questions it poses. Loved they read it themselves, feels more authentic. Thankyou.
