Susan & Micheal are a perfect match!
🌟🌟🌟🌟 4.5 to 5 stars
🔥🔥🔥 Heat Level: 3.5 to 4
🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 Narration: all 5!!!
Book 1:
Such wonderful characters! A story of love, sass, and family!!!
I really enjoyed this book. It is full to the brim of such wonderful and dynamic characters. I loved the whole lot of them!
The story follows widower Corbin, his enby son, Gray and sassy and awesome southerner Andy. I found this story very dynamic and easy to read. The sass and humor in this book is the next level! All the characters blend so well together. Corbin and Andy’s love story starts as fake-boyfriends and evolves over a dramatic and challenging time to become a ‘blended’ family full of love and acceptance.
This story was a great start to Susan’s new series and a wonderful read. I have to say the secondary characters are just as awesome as the main ones and I have to give a shout out to the awesomeness that is Gam-gam!
Book 2:
Such a great novella! Fantastic and unique performance by Michael. If you like Drag Queens falling in love then this is for you!!
Book 3:
I think this ones my fav! I loved Susan approach to an openly bisexual reverend! She's taken great care to craft this story and it shows in these great characters and how they face the hatred, bigotry, and homophobia poising their town, Gabe's church, and their lives.
Gabe happens to be bisexual and happens to be a pastor. He finds himself hired as a poster boy for inclusivity in the LGBTQ community of his small-town but is 'encouraged' not to act on his bisexuality or he may no longer be the pastor. After this ridiculous shock, an adorable kismet of events happens and Gabe finds himself quickly falling for Seth. Seth's a fun and cheeky yoga teacher and Gabe and Seth are great together! I loved their banter, sexy times, and strength and they stand together to face the new bigotry that has risen in town.
I really enjoyed seeing familiar faces around town and learning more about the other awesome characters. I'm loving this series and look forward to many more stories in the Lovestrong series!
As ever Micheal's narration is perfection!! Brilliant dialects, characterizations, and story flow. Although I must his voice for Larry is a bit painful to listen to. It's so different from all other voices I've heard Micheal bring to life that I can't imagine how he managed such a deep throaty voice without hurting himself. I'm interested to see if he kept up this voice for the entirety of Larry's story, as I think that would be extraordinary feet!!
Book 4:
I love a bit of thrill with my romance!!
I loved Shaw and Nick and am so glad they finally got together!! I hadn’t read the opening prequel novella that started this Lovestrong series but I didn’t really feel like I was missing anything even though I need to go back and read it now! Anything for more Nick and Shaw ❤ ❤ ❤
I really enjoy thrillers and I loved that there was a little psychological suspense and stalking in this story that pushes Shaw and Nick together; FINALLY!! I feel for Shaw as he keeps receiving notes from his ‘Master’/stalker, and while I guessed early on who Master was, I was still thrilled ‘watching’ the story unfold. I would have liked a little more detail/depth into the crazy Master and why he was the way he was and why he targeted Shaw, but understand that that may not fit into these lighter stories Susan is creating in the Lovestrong Series.
I enjoyed the humor Susan injects and loves all the feelings and mushiness that happens when the angst is over and Nick and Shaw finally admit their feelings for each other. Their sexy times are off the charts hot too which never hurts 😉 I also enjoyed the somewhat prophetic dreams and look forward to seeing them come true in the next stories in this series!!
As ever Micheal’s narration is perfection!! Brilliant dialects, characterizations, and story flow. I really enjoyed seeing familiar faces around town, learning more about them and enjoyed Michael’s voices for each character and their individuality! I’m loving this series and look forward to many more Lovestrong series!
Susan and Micheal are a perfect match and this was a total swoon-worthy winner for me!!

So entertaining! 😊
I'd never read/listened to any Susan Hawke books before, but I've got to say this collection is wonderful. The MCs are all extremely likeable & their storylines deal with some serious/important themes sensitively whilst still managing to have a sense of humour.
Michael Dean's narration is on point, as always; really bringing the characters to life. Highly recommended!

Great value, lovely stories and great narration
This compilation of stories includes the first 4 books plus the short prequel story 'How not to Wait'. I have read all of these books previously but in this case the audio is WELL worth enjoying as well. The narration really added to the stories with distinctive voices that really bought the books to life. The first two books are a hoot - particularly Honey/Larry and Godrick with some genuine uplifting feel good moments to go alongside them. I have to admit that How Not to Sin wasn't my favorite book when I read it - but I found myself enjoying Seth and Gabe's story much more in audio. Nick and Shaw are the most frustrating couple! The story in this one is really strong and I love the mystery element but goodness me I wanted to just smack Nick around the head and give Shaw a huge hug!!!
Susan Hawke is such a great, versatile writer and this compilation really shows how she moves from humour to quite serious drama easily. I love the way these books mesh together and I will absolutely be returning to them again for another listen.

Great series
I absolutely love this series.
Realistic, emotionally compelling characters who feel like they could be your best friends in a small town setting and a wonderful sense of found family.
Michael Dean is of course excellent at bringing these complex characters to life so vividly.

Get lost for hours
Wow, I do not know where to begin to accurately describe how much I enjoyed this series and the way it was told.
I pressed play and basically listened to the very end, the characters were so amazing in the way he voiced them and he told the different stories in a stunning manner.

Superb, Fantastic, Wonderful Set
I loved this set of stories from Susan Hawk! They are all great, but my personal favorite was the last one (How Not to Break). Along with a simmering slow burn romance, there is drama, suspense, stalking, regret, realization, and ultimately forgiveness, understanding, and love. I just shivered at everything Shaw went through. The fear and frustration at not being able to live one's life was palpable. Good think he had Rick and Nick to help him through.
The narration by Michael Dean was excellent and he perfectly captured the characters and emotions.
I suppose I should add a few content warnings for anyone sensitive to homophobia, bullying, religious discrimination, priests who aren't saints, stalking, and one instance of animal cruelty. These are great stories, but they do include some serious subjects. (Some really fun and light-hearted ones, too.)
I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request, and am voluntarily leaving this honest rebiew.

A fabulous collection
I am a huge Susan Hawke fan. I have nabbed everyone of her audiobooks and devoured them - often in one sitting. I've reviewed each book as they were released and when I heard they were coming out in a bundle, I realized it was my chance to revisit my old friends. A comfort, to be sure. Then I realized there was a little hidden gem included and I whooped in happiness. How Not to Wait is the prequel to How Not to Break and has never been released on audio. Shaw is a young man just moving into adulthood. That being said, he’s been crushing on his father’s best friend for as long as he can remember. His parents are okay with him being gay. Would they support him coming on to the much older friend of the family?
Yeah, probably not so much.
When he finds himself alone in the cabin with Nick, though, he kind of can’t help himself.
Now, Nick is all about restraint. Yes, he finds Shaw attractive, but he’s not going to tap that. He remembers Shaw as a twelve-year-old, not the tempting young legal man before him. But he has too much respect for his friend and way too much self-control to give over to his urges to show that ginger the reality when two men find each other irresistibly attractive. I wasn’t sure how far they were going to go, but I knew we were in for some sexy times. However, I knew the tragedy about to befall the men, so it was all bittersweet.
That being said, I knew they would get their happy ending in the next book so I was able to see past the upcoming pain.
Okay, so have I said I love Susan Hawke? Well, I need to add that I love Michael Dean as well. He is so talented and I love what he’s able to do with all the characters, but especially Honey Combover. It was nice to revisit some old friends and I’d be happy if Ms. Hawke eventually gave me new ones as well.

Wow
This series is by far one of my favorites by Susan (Susi) Hawke! She does such an amazing job bringing you a vast amount of characters with completely different feels! This series has such a mix of stories that there is something for everyone: fake relationship, first-time bi, second chance romance, age-gap, and hurt & comfort. Not to mention some amazing drag queens and some hilarious snake sightings, a truly amazing grandma that defies description, religion and it’s acceptance of the LGBT community and even a tiny little bit of mystery. This is one series that I truly wish I could be a part of in real life! The characters are fun and amazingly well written, their stories are beautiful, sometimes a little heart-breaking but show what love really is, and this is one series I will reread frequently!
Michael Dean does a truly amazing job bringing this series, to life. The variety of style of voice and the amount of characters he portrays is a testament to his talents!
