A light and enjoyable listen
This is the first time I have listened to Krista Nicely and I settled in very quickly. Her voice brought the characters and story to life.
This is a light and enjoyable listen. The twists are intriguing. I enjoyed watching the characters and their relationships and how they built and changed over time Although there is one character I could happily slap! You'll have to listen to see who that is.

Mad About Matt
This is a sweet romance! Shay finds herself back in Red Maple Falls. A place she feels at home and like she can be herself away from her controlling mother. Her new bakery is doing great, until she has a break in. The sheriff sent to investigate is none other than her ex Matt. As time passes she and Matt rekindle their relationship only to have her mom monster interfere. Krista Nicely does a nice job on the narration. Thanks audiobook addiction for the recommendation.

Madd about Matt
This was the first narration I've listened to by Krista Nicely. While I would probably not purposefully choose another narration by her, it was still a very good performance, I just personally did not feel the same connection (?!?! not sure if that would be the right word or sentiment) as I do to other narrators.
This is a small-town second chance story with a strong tug between romance and suspense. Shay is back in her hometown after years of being away and has opened a bakery. Matt is the local sheriff and more concerned for Shay's safety than Shay seems to be, but it's possible that problems from New York have followed Shay to Red Maple Falls. Overall there was a great storyline and the characters were both really strong and had great chemistry. There were a few times where there was some sexual talk that didn't quite fit in at the time, and I felt that the escalation of crimes was at a sociopath warp speed that lead into a very rushed ending.

Second Chance Love At Its Best!
I loved Matts Grandparents, this is a great second chance story Matt and Shay are very relatable characters although Shay did get on my nerves at times. I can't wait to listen to more of this series. 🎧AudiobookObsession

Good second chance story and narration
This was a sweet, low angst second chance romance. Matt is the sheriff and Shay is a baker who had, years ago, left Matt to go chase her dreams in NYC. She’s back in the small town as a baker. Can Matt forgive her so that they can get their HEA? It’s a sweet book that kept my attention because most of the people, both the couple and the supporting cast, were so sweet and fun to follow. (Matt's grandparents were hilarious. Scenes with them and other supporting cast from the small town really added to the story.) Beyond the romance, there was a bit of intrigue- who is breaking into her bakery? ( I have to be honest that I was a bit aggravated with Shay's behavior in this instance.)
Krista Nicely was a good narrator- there were moments when I wasn't sure who she was playing because there wasn't a lot of variation in her voice but overall, she did a good job with the emotion and pacing. I enjoyed her narration.

Good book
Second chances are always my favorite type of books. The story about Shay and Matt is a good one. There's some angst, suspense and romance. I felt that there was some things left unanswered, at least for me and the ending seemed a little rushed. but over all it's a good book
