Summary
Two darkly domineering alpha males.
One sets my body on fire.
The other makes me tremble.
And they swear they won't let me go.
My ordinary life as a college sophomore becomes extraordinary when Joseph storms into my world and sweeps me off my feet. Our intense connection seems too impossible to be real, like a wonderful dream.
Until it becomes a nightmare.
Drugged. Kidnapped.
When I wake up, I find myself trapped in the arms of the man who was supposed to be my fierce protector. My sweet first love is a criminal, the son of a powerful mafia boss. And his best friend, Marco—the terrifying, heavily muscled man who abducted me—is a brutal enforcer.
They say they can't let me go or their enemies might hurt me.
Despite everything, my heart still belongs to Joseph, and I can't help surrendering to the fiery chemistry between us.
Marco's rigid rules infuriate me, but his steady onyx stare and stern orders make something darker than anger burn low in my belly.
They swear they've kidnapped me for my own protection, but will staying close to my alluring criminal captors put me in more danger than ever?

4.5 stars
This one starts off pretty quickly with Ashlyn and Joseph meeting in a college town (her being a Sophomore student) and he wanted to get away from his life (family is in the Mafia). Its instant attraction. Then Joseph left her and Marco (Joseph's enforcer) kidnaps Ashlyn and bring her back to Joseph. I really like all of the POVs and this was one was a good beginning to the series. I plan on reading the next one.
Narrated by: Michelle Price, Scott Rose, Zachary Zaba they all did a great job for their characters and I enjoyed their voices.

Naive and Innocent
Ashlyn is living her life as a student at Harvard University when she meets Joseph at the local bar but what she does not know is how much danger her attraction to Joseph will bring her. Joseph is on the run he just wants to live a life without violence since he grew up in the mafia but one look at Ashlynn and he has to have her. Marco is Joseph’s best friend and he has been looking for his friend when he finally finds him he is warned of the danger his disappearance caused. Marco kidnaps Ashlynn to bring her to Joseph after he returns to the family because now she is in danger. Ashlynn has no idea what’s in store for her all she knows is that her attraction to both of these guys is serious and their desires are dark. This book did not seem complete I hope there’s more to come from these characters.

Really good series starter
This book is the beginning of a series and ends in a cliffhanger. That being said, I really enjoyed the story and the narration. It just flew by. The book ended really quickly because it kept you do attuned to it. I can’t wait to follow along with the story.

My Thoughts on Mafia Captive
While the storyline and storytelling of the author was interesting enough to hold my attention throughout the book, I couldn’t help but feel a bit confused, and maybe a little bit let down as I listened. Looking at the cover and reading the synopsis of the story, I feel like I was given the impression that certain things were going to happen in the story. I thought it was a particular trope and I’m a big fan of that trope. I’ve read/listened to a lot of MFM or ménage over the last few years. It was the introduction that lead me to my love of RH books. But where my confusion comes in with this one is that I didn’t feel that tension and interest and pull to each other that I’m used to finding in these type of stories. At least not on both sides of the MFM “relationship” and certainly not soon enough into the story for me to really be satisfied. In my opinion, if there isn’t an acknowledgment of attraction on all sides, at least in their own heads, it kind of feels like any coming together after that feels forced. And that is what I ran into here.
I felt like in acknowledgment of an attraction was needed way before halfway into the book. And to go anything longer than that to me, feels like any “connection” after that is kind of forced. It’s one thing when an attraction is Insta-lust and a real connection after getting to know each other comes later. But there wasn’t a whole lot of getting to know each other as a whole. There wasn’t an acknowledgment of attraction or any true desire from all necessary parties. There wasn’t anything but anger, maybe occasional amusement on one side, and mistrust way too far into the book for me to feel that the connection was genuine. I almost started to feel like maybe the book was just too short and there wasn’t enough time to develop all sides of the relationship. But then I realized that that wasn’t really the case, it was more that one part of the trio was just focused on and developed more than the other. I am relieved that there is more to this story though only being book one of a trilogy. Maybe things will turn around in book two.
As for the narration, while I did find that I preferred one of the male narrators more than the other, it didn’t stop the book from being overall well done and me feeling like they all gave pretty good performances.

Mafia Romance
Joseph is trying to get away from his mafia lifestyle so he takes a job in a college bar and the minute he sees Ashlyn he is enamoured with her . When he’s dragged back into the mafia by his friend Marco he leaves Ashlyn thinking she’s safe but the vultures are out to hurt her and in turn Joseph so Marco does what he thinks best . I really enjoyed this it was short but the story didn’t lack anything and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

Ménage Mafia Romance
Mafia Captive by Julia Sykes is a ménage mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Michelle Price, Scott Rose, and Zachary Zaba. This is the first book in the Mafia Ménage Trilogy.
This is the first book of Julia's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I am liking the relationship that is blooming between Ashlyn, Joseph, and Marco. I can't wait to see how it will progress over the course of the series. I liked that we got all of their points of views throughout the book.
The book ended on a cliffhanger which wasn't a surprise since it's the first book in the series. I can't wait for the next book The Daddy and The Dom to be released on audio so I can get more of their story.
Michelle, Scott, and Zachary did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like ménage romances, captive romances, or mafia romances.

Really liked the story although way quite timid assume book 2 will be more in depth personally loved the one male narrator the other male I didn't mind but the female voice kept changing accent and was annoying me if I'm honest.. Will be listening to the next book

What a start!
Get ready for the beginning of a great trilogy! Julia Sykes starts the Mafia Menage with a bang! Ashlyn and Joseph have a building chemistry. Finally they get together and now are inseparable. That is until Joseph disappears. Hurt and nursing a broken heart, Ashlyn finds herself taken by a man that scares and intrigues her only to land in his home with Joseph. Now we need answers. Who is this man that calls her Angel? And his friend Marco, does she need to fear him? What will become of the three? This is the only the beginning of Ashlyn's journey into a dark world. There are secrets and dark desires as well as impending danger on the horizon. I can't wait to see where Julia Sykes takes us with these three.
This narration is has the perfect story tellers. Michelle Price uses her slight southern twang, and Ashlyn is not only strong but a little adventurous! Scott Rose and Zachary Zaba give us Joseph and Marco, the two alphas that are protective! I love these two voices, each finding their own personality and bringing us into the dark, desires. I can't wait for more!

Amazing tripe narration from Michelle Price, Scott Rose and Zachary Zaba
Joseph finds himself hiding out in a college town when he meets Ashlyn. When these two are just getting to know each other Joseph disappears and Ashlyn is left with a broken heart.
Marco kidnaps Ashlyn and brings her back to Joseph so that she can find out who he really is. Loved listening how the relationships between Ashlyn, Joseph, and Marco start to grow.
Though some times I wish Joseph was stronger.

Disappointed
I bought this book because of the reviews. vanilla is how I would explain this book. Not a lot happens, this is set up to make you buy book 2? I won't be purchasing the next book. Ashlyn is annoying and immature. Joseph only gives her vanilla sex, he's scared to show her who he really is. Marco doesn't even get a look in. She's scared of Marco and doesn't like him. I like steamy books and this isn't one of them. I get annoyed when authors do a series and book 1 has no real story or action. The chemistry just wasn’t there and didn’t sizzle like it should.
The story gets 1 🌟
