About this listen

Hi there! I'm Magical Girl Crystal Genocide, one of the twelve magical girls, and sworn protectors of Earth! We were like a superhero squad, but with more sparkles! We fought day and night to keep the baddies at bay and the Earth safe. But, one day, our best wasn't good enough.

So, we huddled up for a superhero brainstorm and decided to pool our powers for this mega, super-duper save-the-day plan. We kinda goofed. Big time. Instead of saving the day, we accidentally wiped out a quarter of the Milky Way.

Now, here I am, Crystal Genocide, in a bit of a pickle. I've landed on this bizarre planet, surrounded by odd monsters and folks who have magic that feels way too familiar. It's like they're copying our style, but not quite getting it right. My mission? Unravel this magic mystery, track down my magical girl gang, and maybe, just maybe, put back together the pieces of our home that we kinda, sorta blew up. Hopefully, I won't accidentally destroy this world too! Wish me luck!

Really mad, but there is a sense behind it

I reallybdidnt know what to make of this audiobook when I first started to listen. It's very exaggerated from the start but give it some time and you start to get it. The book is like two stories entwined but I think it's really just the intro for much more in the following books. If you like Ravensdaggers other stuff (Dead Tired) then you're likely to like this too. Crystal is completely OP in the story but in a very different way than the character in the other book.

Off to a good start

As others have said this was not what I expected - a surprise for sure, but a welcome one :). At its core this is an isekai/prog. fantasy story with op magical girls.

And the protagonist Crystal Genocide is simply a fun and lovely character. The whole story is delightful and a really good pallet cleanser. The story itself is also pretty interesting and I can’t wait to see how it will continue in the future books.

The audio production is also top notch - but that’s to be expected from a SBT production. It is in fact so good that I bought it also on their own Soundbooth app - sadly because of licensing restrictions you can’t buy it there any longer but be sure to check the app out nonetheless. It’s by far the best way to support such awesome audiobooks!

If you are looking for some lighthearted fun I can’t recommend this enough.

A magical girl on a mission

I love Ravensdagger's work and this is no different. a wonderful set up to the universe of magical girls, demons and dimension hopping!

the story is relatively normal by isekai standards but with an interesting emotional weight as well follow Crystal Genocide on her trip over this world.

Sound Booth knocks it out of the park with every character having a voice that brings them to life! from Crystal's cheerful high tones to Alice's lower, Brazilian concern.

a great listen and I can't wait for more.
