About this listen

With a new game, Mass Effect Andromeda, set for release in 2017, the launch of a new series of Mass Effect novels is timely. The new game will take the story in a dramatic new direction and is set in a new region of space, with a new and deadly enemy.

Titan is publishing four unmissable Mass Effect novels. The novels will act as prequel and sequels to the events in the games and will become part of the overarching Mass Effect saga. These new stories, developed in close collaboration with the Bioware game team, weave directly into the action of the new game - and will reveal events kept secret over the course of game play - and will add to the canonical Mass Effect saga.

Brilliant listening

I loved the narration, perfectly MassEffecty - in line with established sounds of the universe.

to an entertaining if fatalistic future

whatever the future holds we will take all our fears, prejudices and misguided notions with us. we can tell ourselves that we want to do better, that we are better; but the truth is we are all even the most alien of us only human.

it was a great listen

Hire the writer for m:e A 2!

In time honoured tradition, the 3 companion books for M:E A have started badly, gone through a decent middle phase, to recapturing the glory of the original trilogy. Great mix of humour, story and characters, fantastic dramatisation by Tom Taylorson and a brilliant addition to the Andromeda story. The character names, being a bit similar in parts, were difficult to keep track of in the first chapter but by the second I was already picturing their actions just like an extended cutscene, or as Yorik would prefer, in his stage rendition of Macbeth

cracking story

A really good story, at first the amount of characters can be overwhelming but stick with it...the story will out...

Keelah Si'yah

Great read for Mass Effect Andromeda fans. Not on the same level as the first two Andromeda books, but thoroughly enjoyable. The narrator is incredible.

Very interesting

Not related to the first book in the "series".
Actually it's not really a series, more like a framework.
I do not know much about the game and it's lore but i did like this book.
Interesting subject, interesting characters and i did like the message.
Most characters had a personal story and motivation.

Loved the effects! reader was fantastic, voices 👍

Glad to know what happened to the Quarians. The reader is superb, accents on point and effects seemingly used to very good effect!
cheers

Captivating, bit hard to follow

It was a detective story in the end but the sci-fi details really made it come alive. There were lots of characters for such a short story, which made it impossible to figure out the bad guy (if such feat was even possible here). However some were really memorable and endearing, especially the Shakespeare loving Elcor and the VI granny. I was so sorry both were lost in the end, which is why the book gets 1 less stars for killing both my favorite characters only to torment me.

Much, much better than expected

Aside from a couple of chronological issues - such as the reference to the recently discovered Raloi in what is supposedly an old Quarian verse - this book is an excellent piece of writing, performed brilliantly by someone who clearly knows their way around Mass Effect lore.

great audiobook

I was annoyed with EA and Bioware for giving up on Andromeda and not telling the story of the missing arc. should have been a DLC for the game, but atleast I finally know the fate of the missing vessel and its crew. enjoyed this audio book and the narrator does a good job at keeping things flowing
