You must get the free PDF to help with this!
Firstly - get the free PDF on the website which is talked about at the start of the audio book. It really helped me with the pronunciation of the kanji - and it helped my reading skills too.
My level is quite basic. I know katakana and hirigana (essential) and a few kanji. I love on the PDF that all the kanji furigana are there and they are just the right level for me to be able to read along.
The book gives you a group of three articles. It then reads the vocabulary and then finally gives the three readings again at the end. I wasn't sure about this format at first - but actually, I love it. It lets you learn something and then practice again. Combined with the PDF I really felt like I was learning and understanding loads of new words in the articles.
There are about 3 hours of recordings which is great - but for my level I'm finding that I can play these back several times to really get to grips with all the vocab, grammar and kanji. This means that I've got hours of learning for one credit.
The Japanese sections use a really clear voice. This is really useful for vocab pronunciation and getting fluency in the articles.
I'm really not a fan of boring textbooks for language learning. This really fits a gap for those who have learnt some basics and want to move on.
