About this listen
The discovery of a priceless artifact puts Julia's life in great danger!
From valuable artifacts to shady businessmen, the Yucatan Peninsula becomes a dangerous vacation spot for John and Julia Evans. While on assignment for the newspaper, the Evanses try to enjoy a romantic vacation among the Mayan ruins, but when Julia accidentally comes upon a couple suspicious men exchanging an item, she quickly turns and leaves, but it is too late. The men have seen her.
As a reporter, Julia does not easily give up, and her curiosity gets them in a mess of trouble. Before John and Julia realize what is going on, they are both in danger and find themselves running for their lives through the jungles of the Yucatan.

Enjoyed
I found Carolyn Kashner a very good narrator for this great book
We have a mystery sent in the jungle , which has it's own dangers. A married couple who happen to fall into the world of artifact smuggling, not the romantic time away as they hoped.

History adventure
I enjoyed this book but I think I preferred the first book because it held more mystery and interviewing of suspects. This was one was more an adventure and stumbling over the answers than working it out. I liked the fact that most of the book is centered in the jungle and all the hidden dangers and excitement that entails, makes for an interesting story. I liked the prank the girls left at home played on some bullies but not sure what that had to do with the mystery.
Julia a reporter is on an assignment and by taking her husband alone is hoping to rekindle the romance between them. Things don't go as planned when Julia woken up by a recurring nightmare goes for an early morning walk and witnesses two men acting strangely. This plunges Julia and John into the murky world of artefact smuggling. With strangle men following them there romantic get away soon turns into a race through a dangerous jungle to get away.
I liked the narrator than thought she added tension to the story in all the right places.
