Having read and loved the books I decided to listen to the Midnight Pack books and I'm not regretting a single minute of it.

Midnight torment
Another great book and surprise..... There is going to be another..... So looking forward to it when it comes out. This book is focuses on more about the alpha of the pack but is also about the whole pack. Enjoyed listening to the whole series and will keep an eye out for the next one.

Original storyline
The third book in the Midnight Pack series. The storyline is of Cormac and Ava. This book is full of emotions as they have to work through the obstacles in their way to become the couple they are destined to be. Great narration. One to listen to over and over again.

Fantastic
Midnight Torment is by far the best in this series so far. OMG Cormac Jacobs ( fans self) is so hot. This third book carries on from midnight temptation and it follows Cormac and Ava’s story.
She is captured by the pack from the hunters garden while trying to escape at the end of the last book and is quite a character. I love her fire and she has a soothing effect on Cormac the big alpha wolf. We get all the other pack members in there too so you won’t be disappointed.
The action is there as is the steam and not forgetting some really sweet stuff that you don’t expect from Mac.
There is a really great epilogue!! That’s all I’m saying about that. Fantastic read!!
The narrator is just so good at reading these books.
I love how you can hear his enthusiasm for the story and adds to the whole experience.
Well done an amazing job!!

In this book you will have all your questions answered and see the perfect happy ending. I loved this series and wouldn’t be upset if we get a spin-off with them in the future.

Hooked
I’m hooked on this series. Midnight Torment is Mike Peterman’s best performance yet. The audiobook is over 10 hours and I still want more.
Cormac Jacobs is the leader of the midnight pack. He is supposed to mate with someone who isn’t his fated. Instead he’s made her and her father a promise. After everything that went down in the last book Cormac has to lead his pack against the hunters. Saving a girl is just the start. She could be the key to every.
Cormac has the patience’s of a saint when it comes to the new girl. She’s been through a lot and to gain her trust he’s willing to let her go.
Loved this book. The story was interesting and brought all the characters together. Cormac is a great leader.
I can’t wait for more in this series. ARC as part of a competition win.

Cormac
This episode follows Cormac and how he is going to deal with the Hunter Sect and protect his pack. Whilst scouting the Sects grounds he runs into a young girl who has escaped the Sect he takes her back to the house but she’s been brainwashed into thinking they are the bad guys . Things are not as they seem with her and eventually he finds out she’s his fated mate , Ava still trusts no one but slowly she comes to terms with the revelations.

2.75 highly conflicted STARS ★★✬✩✩
This book is for you if… you are are not irritated by a very r*pey scene that is not properly addressed later on in the plot and still buy into the overall romance (technically you could just skip this book entirely, but the romance is still kinda cute. I'm conflicted, I know. Send help.). TW: r*pe - per definition and moral standards, it's plain r*pe.
⤐ Overall.
Technically, I have several ratings for this book. If it weren't for the r*pe, this would be my favourite romance in the Midnight Pack so far.
The first time they're intimate, Mac forces himself on Ava and enters her without permission although: she says no, squirms away from him, is tense, says stop. Last time I checked, no means no. There was no kink involved in the making of this r*pe. I mean, that's not hard, is it? I'm shocked I could find only one other review on here that mentions this/takes that scene into account. It's not properly addressed on later in the book either and thus I find the framing insufficient.
I think this is one of the first times I'm not entirely turned off by a r*pe scene. It's woven into a very disturbing ‘I need to force you to mate with me so I can concentrate’ narrative, and if this doesn't sound like abusive, manipulative bullshit. Thus, if I tried to ignore all the terrible feelings in my stomach while reading that scene, this would be my favourite in the series, around 4 STARS. If I took it into account but not so much as to let it taint the overall experience, we'd end up with something between 3 and 3.25 stars. If I listen to my gut feeling intensely we would have to tone it down even more: 1.75 STARS. I'll settle with 2.75 rounded up to 3, let's see whether my feelings change over time.
On the other hand, apart from the stuff mentioned above - if, you know, I was to humour Mac and just pretend I totally misinterpreted it, cough cough - this is clearly the cutest romance in the midnight trifecta so far. Cormac spends some lovely alone time with Ava and is very encouraging in her taking her place at the top of the pack hierarchy without cushioning her too much or being like ‘Maybe they eat you, maybe they don't. Who cares, lol.’ It might be worth mentioning though that he's 15 years older than her.
I would wish to learn more about the dynamics of pack life, though. How do you ensure the safety of the territory, what functions do other people in the pack have, etc.
An additional bonbon of Midnight Torment is the fact that the background story is getting denser by the minute. I like romance but that alone is not enough to make a book interesting. The closer we get to the hunter's sect and the paranormal aspects outside the shifter packs, the better I understand the way L. Ann is picturing her world.
To conclude, I am helpless.
⤐ What’s happening.
Ava, abducted as a baby, is finally free of the hunter's sect and safe on the territory of the Midnight Pack. Slowly but steadily she internalises that not all want to harm her. Although at first irritated by- just short of afraid of - the pack leader Cormac, she slowly realises that his stance towards their relationship is not quite as unshared as she tries to insist it is.
