It's underwhelming.

I was not a fan of this book only because mindfulness is so much more than what is said in the book. The information was there, just underwhelming.

I'm getting a lot of info more than I've expected.

I thought the person telling the story was effective with tone and pace. The examples and guided examples are a good addition. I appreciate that the book was not crammed with science terms. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was not a large enough list of mindfulness uses. Why should I be mindful?

I liked this book.

I’ve never meditated or opened my mind to the world until hearing the benefits of doing this. Now I feel like a switch was flipped in my mind. I notice the crispness of the air and the vibrance of the grass. This book is a lot about perception of the world and it worked!

I appreciate the advanced instructions.

This book was recommended by our travel writing professor to describe the advantages of mindfulness in travel writing and I must agree that it was insightful. It is most definitely a book on beginning mindfulness, but after this book, advanced instruction could easily be understood.

I was enthused to find a book about mindfulness.

This book is as excellent as books like this can be. Most are about meditative practices, but this book taught me all the reasons being mindful is excellent for health and mind. It has definitely been an eye opener and I plan on reading more books on this topic.

It did trigger my curiosity.

The biggest problem I had with this book is the ambiguity of it. Mindfulness is something that is preached to help a variety of different things—not just mental problems. Even just everyday observation is enhanced by mindfulness.

For a short guide, it's pretty empowering

As far as mindfulness goes, I was highly uneducated on the topic. In fact, I had no idea that this was an option for mental health and overall well-being. I would be interested in a more descriptive addition to this book!

Compelling enough!

I have been into meditation and finding my inner peace recently and this book was along the same genre, so I purchased it. I thoroughly enjoyed all it included, but found the information common knowledge among those educated on this topic. For beginners to mindfulness, this would be riveting.

It's not for everyday uses.

I was hoping for extra information on mindfulness to help with my travel writing and while I learned multiple techniques, this book is aimed more toward panic attacks and calming, not every day uses.
