About this listen
THE INTERNATIONAL PHENOMENON BEHIND THE COSMERE
****
What if the Dark Lord won?
A thousand years ago evil came to the land and has ruled with an iron hand ever since. The sun shines fitfully under clouds of ash that float down endlessly from the constant eruption of volcanoes. A dark lord rules through the aristocratic families and ordinary folk are condemned to lives in servitude, sold as goods, labouring in the ash fields.
But now a troublemaker has arrived and there is rumour of revolt. A revolt that depends on a criminal no-one can trust and a young girl who must master Allomancy - the magic that lies in all metals.
What did you like most about The Final Empire?
This was my first Brandon Sanderson book and ended up becoming one of my favourite books of all time. The story was fantastic and set in an amazing fantasy world. This story is incredibly well written. and I strongly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys great writing!Who was your favorite character and why?
My favourite character was Kelsier, the leader of a a thieving crew and a powerful Mistborn which is someone who can ingest metal to gain power with each metal giving him various different powers such as super strength or heighten his senses. Kelsier is one of the main characters and the story revolves around his ambition to kill the tyrannical Lord Ruler who is essentially God. It was the ridiculous scope of this quest which kept me hooked to the story! What about Michael Kramer’s performance did you like?
Kramer's performance was mostly excellent. He did a fantastic job bringing characters to life with his voice, one of the best performed audiobooks I have ever had the pleasure to listen to.Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book had me gasping in awe more often than any other book has. It continually surprised me again and again and had me hooked from start to finishAny additional comments?
The Mistborn trilogy is one of the best I have ever read.A must read!

What I appreciated is that this book could essentially stand on its own, I want to read the rest of the series, but this was action packed and had good character development so doesn’t feel like some of those series where the first book is just a nondescript character building event. I felt some of it was a bit predictable but I can forgive it because on the whole it was great.
The narration was slightly difficult for me to get in to as I'm not really attuned to the American accent, but once I got there I really loved it!
Loved it!

I've reccomended this book more times than I can count and have since gone through a long list of Brandon Sanderson novels.
As if the story wasn't brilliant enough the icing on the cake is Micheal Kramer's voice which I found perfect for this book.
The book that started my audiobook obsession.
