About this listen
From USA Today best-selling author Adriana Locke comes a grumpy, blue-collar single dad that falls hard for his new nanny. This small-town romance is a standalone novel with tons of heat and even more heart.
This grumpy single dad falls hard for the nanny.
Chase Marshall is many things:
- An attentive single dad.
- Jaw-droppingly gorgeous.
- My employer for the next 30 days.
He’s also the bane of my existence.
He swears I’m a never-ending headache—the most infuriating woman he’s ever met.
If I’m so irritating, then what’s up with the lingering looks when he thinks I’m not watching?
The seemingly innocent touches while making breakfast?
The smirk that graces his kissable lips after one of our verbal spars after his daughter has gone to bed?
One minute he’s coming to my rescue. The next second he’s complaining about how I fold his work shirts. Fine. Fold them yourself.
It turns out that the only time I don’t get under Chase’s skin is when I’m under him.
And that’s where things get complicated.

Grumpy Single Dad Yumminess!
From the moment Chase and Megan met, there was instant chemistry and some tension filled hate. Verbal quips. I ate their story up! Chase was so delectably grumpy and it was the best watching him fall. Megan love and protection with Kennedy just warmed my heart. I loved their connection. I absolutely adored the found family and home is more than just a physical place within this story. More Than I Could had everything I’ve come to know and love with Adriana Locke; sweet, swoony, spicy and filled with so much heart.

The nanny and the blue-collar worker
A fantastic standalone for now (the hero does have brothers) from Adriana Locke as Megan takes a temporary job as nanny to blue-collar worker Chase’s teenage daughter. Their banter was wicked and the chemistry between them sizzled from the first moment they met and the struggle to resist was real as they flirted and danced around the other, but Chase is determined to keep things purely platonic for the sake of his daughter Kennedy who was going through the terrible teens…. like that was really going to happen! There was so much I enjoyed about this book. From Megan and Chase’s relationship and how klutzy she was around him, Chase’s relationship with Kennedy, their love for each other was apparent even when she drove him crazy by trying to grow up too quickly to Megan finding a way of getting through to Kennedy, being the friend and shoulder she desperately needed. My one niggle with More Than I Could would be I felt Kennedy’s issues at school were left unresolved.
There was a fantastic flow to the narration of this audiobook provided by Tor Thom and Maxine Mitchell. Both are fantastic narrators on their own but together they brought this book to life putting every emotion into their portrayals of Chase and Megan with Megan especially managing to convey the fun and flirty side of Megan but also adding a touch of pathos when she related stories of her childhood and the pain she felt. Together they made this a fantastic listening experience.

Fantastic story
What a fantastic audiobook..and just what I needed to lift my spirits. More Than I Could by Adriana Locke was such a pleasure to listen too,the witty banter was AMAZING and made me laugh more than once. Chase is a single dad to a 14 year old girl Kennedy who seems to be acting out lately and always getting into trouble with school. The problem is Chase has a job that takes him away from Kennedy for days and he needs someone to take care of her while he is away for a month. His mum's friend was meant to do it but she can no longer make it and so she is sending her daughter to do the job. Megan is at a loose end she has just lost her job and is back living with her mum which is not ideal for her..So when her mum is incapacitated and needs her to go to a small town to take care of her friends granddaughter she can't say no. Getting into the town is not easy and she ends up breaking down and stranded at the side of the road until a tall dark stranger comes to her rescue...But even though he is as HOT as all hell he is a grump and they end up trading words instead....Its a good thing she will never have to see the HOTTIE again right?......WRONG the sex on legs man is Chase and its his daughter she will be watching over.. The attraction between these two is recognised from the start,they both know that they have chemistry but agree to not act on it. That agreement is soon shot to hell and dies a horrible death because they cannot keep their hands off eachother and a secret affair begins...Kennedy must never find out. This story is so delightful with great characters you fall in love with.. The Narration is Fabulous Maxine Mitchell and Tor Thom did an excellent job portraying Chase and Megan and all the other characters within this book. I really enjoyed listening to them. Adriana's words are so consuming this book has minimum angst but has a strong storyline with both Chase and Megan having issues with committment and with Kennedy having problems with one of her teachers at school. So there are alot of things to work out between the three of them,and Adriana Locke has some really wise things to say through her characters..I think I actually learned something about how to cope with a teen. This story was funny,sweet and steamy and I loved listening to it. An EXCELLENT story. 5 Stars

More Than I Could
🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧
❤️easy breezy
❤️entertaining
❤️lighthearted & heartwarming
❤️low angst
❤️adults adulting properly ❤️😍❤️😍❤️
↪↪ things that popped in my head while listening :)
📚STORY📚: More Than I Could is one of those stories that you just can’t help but fall into in an easy breezy manner. After I finished listening, I could see where the story could have gone down a different road and maybe been a more in-depth angsty plot, digging deeper into the characters backgrounds to see how life had brought them to where they are today but Adriana’s choice to focus on the ’here and now’ of it all was a delightfully fulfilling choice! Honestly, it was a charming #swoonfest most of the time and entertaining all of the time! This is a perfect story for any romance reader, but especially good for any reader that’s maybe having a reading slump because it will make you smile broadly and laugh lightheartedly, even when it tugs at your heart!
🎧NARRATION🎧: Tor Thom and Maxine Mitchell are both favorite narrators of mine, and they did not disappoint with this narration! They brought the story and all the characters to life gloriously and made this already great story even better!
Well done!

These two were everything!
Adriana Locke always writes the best small town romances and this one is no different! This single dad x nanny, small town romantic comedy was everything.
From the beginning I loved Chase and Megan so much! Megan's relationship with Kennedy, Chase's daughter, was so deep to where Megan understood Kennedy was adorable.
I went through every emotion possible during this book and it was hawt! Maxine Mitchell and Tor Thom's narration was perfect for these characters and I really hope we get a chance to visit this small town again in future Adriana Locke books!
Rating: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes Daddy😈
Audio update!
I guess I am in my Maxine Era?! Whether she’s a rock star’s new bride, a boss babe loved by three men, or a nanny for a cinnamon roll daddy, she nails them all! 😉 she is amazing as Megan💕
Definitely give the audiobook a listen if you can🥰
~~~~~~~
Mmm I Would definitely call Chase daddy;) He is such a hot cinnamon roll. All grumpy & sexy with a soft spot on his heart. He is a great dad who doubts himself…don’t we all but that’s what makes him so relatable. Throw in a hot nanny and this daddy finds himself with his hands full😉
Hand down Megan is a total boss babe! The way she dresses down the teacher and principal are yell out loud goal worthy. Because eff that judgemental lady.
Megan is the best addition to Ken & Chase’s family. She is everything he didn’t know he needed and everything Ken has been searching for💕
💕fave quotes📖
The door swings open, and Chase walks in clad in a pair of gray sweatpants sans shirt. If I didn’t know better, I’d say he knows exactly what he’s doing.—-yeah he did! Lol
Something is calming about the sun rising. Dad always said that the sun coming up was a sign that you get a new start. All of yesterday’s mistakes were erased in the night. I liked that idea growing up, and I’ve kept it with me my whole life.—-THIS! Love it♥️
A single Dad Romance!
This is a great and engaging small town, and single dad romance. Megan and Chance's story is sweet, fun, and heartwarming. I liked the banter, the chemistry, and the sweet romance. Chance is a grumpy and handsome single dad. Megan is a beautiful character, feisty, smart, caring, and determined. The supporting characters are great. Maxine Mitchell and Tor Thom did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it.
Fun Listen!
This was fun listen that hooked me from the beginning! Chase is a broody single dad to 15 yr old Kennedy. Megan has agreed to help care for Kennedy as a favor to her mom and Chase’s mom. Sparks flew from their first encounter, and I loved how Megan had absolutely no filter! Their banter made me laugh and I sure hope Gavin gets a book! This is a perfect light read and exactly what I needed today.
Narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Tor Thom- they both did such a great job with these characters and made this a very enjoyable listen.
Fun story, good narration
Low angst, fun characters, plenty of steam and overall a fun time, this is kind of a forced proximity, single dad romance. Fun supporting characters, a well developed world that I would love to explore more of and just generally a sweetness to the interplay between characters that made me smile a lot. Maxine Mitchell as a narrator was perfect for this audiobook. While Tor Thom was good, his voice didn't match what I thought the male narration should sound like. That said, I loved living through this story through the audiobook. Can’t wait for the next one!
