About this listen
Mr. Vega
I didn't want this woman to be my nanny. She had no experience and a failed art career. What did she know about rearing children? She was my late wife's choice, and I didn't too much care for the woman, and she didn't care for me, either.
Until all hell broke loose and the nanny was the only one my son could turn to. The only one we could rely on. She kept us going, and then she wanted to leave, too. Not a damn chance.
Faith
There could never be anything between me and Mr. Vega. He was the father of the boy in my charge. I was his nanny. Nothing more and nothing less.
The lines needed to be clear between him and me, but a nagging feeling told me he would keep them blurred.
Contains mature themes.

Love Love Love!
The only thing I didn't like was the length. I wish it could have gone on for much longer. The story, characters, narration... all top notch!

A Sweet Little Tear Jerker
I loved this story, having worked as a Nanny for many years I found this book very believable and it dealt with the theme respectfully and tenderly. I'm looking forward to reading Mr West!

Strong Caribbean Woman
We Caribbean woman are very independent and strong. We don't depend on men, we are the father and mother of our children.

So glad I gave this a listen
Loved the storyline which was expertly laced with love loss and redemption.
The characters were bold, passionate and will absolutely draw you in and will have you rooting for them.
Icing on the cake were the narrators who did such an excellent job bringing this story to life!!
I highly recommend this read (listen 😉)

Loved it!
A very well written story about hard to treat respectfully subjects, such as finding love after a partner dies and interracial relationships. The story spans over several years and parts are written quite fleeting while pivotal moments are touched on in greater detail creating a nice balance of depth and time passing. The development of the relationship between the two main characters is what’s front and center, no over the top drama but trials and tribulations are still present in a real, relatable way. The narration by Troy Duran, whose voice I just love and the expert voice acting and accent work by Mairi is delightful and so good it’s ridiculous. Absolutely recommend.

Very enjoyable
Really nice slow burn - enjoyed all the characters. Little twist at the end with the letter was so touching. Even the kid wasn’t annoying lol

Just enough.
An easy listen that didn't drag unnecessarily. The beauty of a blended family, different races and cultures. A reminder most of us live in a bubble and rarely bother with educating our selves about people outside our sphere

heartwarming story
Very much enjoyed this listen, liked the way it was narrated, and the narrators. Not a big fan of badly done West Indian/Caribbean accents but this was not as jarring as I thought as the story and pace of the book was to my tastes.
