About this listen
At Santa Cruz Central High School, they called them the misfits, the outcasts, the weirdos. But most of us knew them as the Lost Boys....
Miller Stratton is a survivor. After a harrowing childhood of poverty, he will do anything it takes to find security for himself and his mom. He’s putting all his hopes and dreams in the fragile frame of his guitar and the beauty he creates with its strings and his soulful voice.
Until Violet. No one expects to meet the love of their life at age 13. But the spunky rich girl steals Miller’s heart and refuses to give it back.
Violet McNamara’s life hasn’t been as simple as it looks. Her picture-perfect family is not so perfect after all. Her best friend, Miller, is her one constant, and she is determined not to ruin their friendship with romantic complications.
But the heart wants what it wants. As Miller’s star begins to rise to stratospheric heights, what will it take for Violet to realize that she’s the girl in all of his love songs?

Not my usual read
I wouldn’t usually read a gushing love story but it was free so I gave it a go! Whilst I couldn’t listen to the last hour, the fact that it’s kept my attention for the other 9 hrs demonstrates what a well written story it was. The female narrator was a bit breathy for my liking, hence the early end, but overall, a good book.

A beautiful story of love winning over adversity
Excellent narration and characterisation as this story of teenage love and life trials covers many teenage themes through a lovely story of the two main characters and tribulations that they face

Warning:Keep your hands clean when the kids r home
lovely story that hooks you onto the characters and their lives, only to turn super graphic with some intimate moments. Was a bit of a shock as I listened to audiobooks while in the kitchen (wet/doughy hands) only for my little ish one (8) to walk in at just the wrong moment when the story decided to get"v. grown up" 🤣🤣. So don't say you weren't warned !!!

Escapism
Beautifully written. Yes a bit corny but I still enjoyed it. I am tired of murders and crime. I found this book refreshing. The voices were great too.
