Summary
The book of Acts and the letters of St Paul from the Holy Bible, read by David Suchet.
David Suchet reads the biblical letters (from Acts to Revelation) to accompany his BBC1 series, 'In the Footsteps of St Paul'. In the two part documentary, the Poirot actor travels to ancient and modern locations around the Mediterranean, interviewing experts and uncovering the latest archaeological research surrounding St Paul's career.
Scripture is taken from the Holy Bible, New International Version, 2011 translation.

What Fills You Up Is What Comes Out
I love the reassuring voice telling me the story as if it was addressed to me personally. I end my day with God’s Word; this influences my mood and attitude.
Sir David read’s it like it perfectly, the tone and speed are just right for me. Thank you,

excellent to listen to
What made the experience of listening to NIV Bible 8 the most enjoyable?
pace and able to listen clearly
What does David Suchet bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
listened to others readers previously and found them a bit boring if I can say that!
Any additional comments?

the narration is wonderful
it was hard to find beginning of chapters- unlike old testament that ended on each chapter.

Excellent narratory
Here David Suchet reads from the "post-gospel" chapters and verse of the bible - i.e. St Pauls' s life and letters. He is an excellent narrator, the words flowing nicely. It was soothing listening to this in the car to and from work, a bit like thought for the day but better!
Only slight criticism is that the selection of parts of the bible includes some of the more obscure passages, which personally, are less useful than the obvious grandeur of Corinthians etc.

How does David Suchet make it so gripping?
I bought this part 8 so I could listen to the Book of Revelation while going round the extraordinary tapestry of the Apocalypse in Angers today. What a dazzling experience. Fourteenth century politics and beliefs and image-making augmented by a true dramatisation by David Suchet - but never too dramatic, always just right. He personified St John, the writer of this utterly bizarre last book of the Bible that I’d never read. Brilliant.

5 stars for the greatest story ever told?!
Would you listen to NIV Bible again? Why?
this is for the Acts-Revelation portion. I haven't heard an audio version of the bible before, but pleased to have access to a UK-English version. Mr Suchet reads it well, and I am noticing things I haven't before despite reading it several times.
Any additional comments?
My only criticism is of the format. It has chapter breaks, but doesn't appear to have breaks where the books are.

Beautiful reading of the greatest book ever written
David Suchet's reading is truly perfect and a wonder to listen to. My favourite version of the bible is the KJV but David makes this version of the bible come alive with his reading.
