Summary
He hates everything about her.
She despises him even more.
So why is his heart so determined to belong to her?
Once trapped by marriage to a woman he loathed, Fitzwilliam Darcy is finally free again. Resentful, bewildered, and angry, he is eager to begin his life over - preferably with a woman who is the exact opposite of his wife.
He never imagined a short stay in Hertfordshire would bring him face to face with his worst nightmare; a woman similar in face, form, and name. He certainly never expected her to be so impossible to ignore.
Torn between what he believes he wants and what his heart cannot live without, his dignity begins to unravel. Will his desperation to escape his past drive a wedge into his closest friendship and destroy any hope of a future?
Will Miss Elizabeth Bennet prove to be as nefarious as his wife? Or, will the last woman in the world be his only chance at happiness?

This was great.
Buy this, it’s 15 hours of absorbing escapism, and who doesn’t need that? I’ve read a lot of P&P variations and for me this is up there with the best of them.
I loved this Darcy. His journey towards redemption was often moving and his appreciation of Elizabeth and what she brought to his life was heartfelt and incredibly romantic. The sub plot built the suspense well and kept me guessing!
I’ve taken to listening to audible as I get on with everyday chores and the ‘sorting and clearing’ tasks I’ve set myself during ‘social distancing’. it makes the most mundane tasks less monotonous and the time seem to fly by.

Really enjoyable
Ok, so it’s hardly going to win the Booker prize however this is certainly one of the better variations of P&P IMO. In fact I’d say it’s in my top 5. This story is a lovely twist on the original but the characters are ‘still themselves’. It’s written from Darcy’s POV & Harry Frost does a fabulous job of the narration. I’d highly recommend this story to anyone who likes a bit of escapism

Murder, mayhem and treachery
A variation with a difference. Mr Darcy is a relieved but damaged widower with dreadful in-laws. It's a melange of dark and light. Harry Frost is wonderful.

Excellent
What a wonderful book. Hard to get into at first but well worth the effort, the narrator was superb, his tone was perfect for the story. I wanted it to go on forever but was desperate to know how it would end. The descriptive passages show the author has researched thoroughly the places, times and events. Thank you it has been brilliant.

Excellent story, ,brilliant narration
I really enjoyed this audio book. The story flowed well, the characters were believable and the narration was fabulous. Harry Frost's character voices were so good. I'll be looking out for more from him and from this excellent author too.
