Summary

"Why do I have to have moral issues with killing someone? I feel like such a hypocrite! It's worse than a vegetarian touting organically grown steaks." (Eric, physics teacher, involuntary vampire, and part-time demon slayer)

Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. It can let you hold down a day job, true, but sometimes the night "life" can be more than a little difficult, what with those bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts kicking in. Luckily for Eric he can rely on his trusty steed and her unwavering support, his flaming sword and its sarcastic wit, and his own snarky sense of humor.

Good, but long

This is a good but long book. Not the longest I have ever listened too (I finished all Song of Fire and Ice books in 4 weeks and that was something like 150 hours).
The story is of an EPIC journey. Lots and lots of things happen but it is fairly easy to follow and understand.

The book does have depth too, you are really able to get to know the characters and understand the way they operate the relevance they have within the story.

Sometimes the main character did annoy me, because he was so good - but that says more about me than the character.

I would recommend for people who like vampires and medieval stuff.

And for those of you who are undecided, this isn't a 'shines like diamonds' kind of vampire story.

Similar to the Dresden Files

Has the reluctant hero looking for revenge whilst maintaining their human nature. Loads of the modest hero moments to enjoy which is a must in any book I read. Loved all of it.

Fantastic fantasy fun

This series cannot be over hyped. Well written, funny, thought provoking books, wonderfully performed by Sean Runnette. I recommend these to anyone and everyone who has the slightest interest in Vampires, funny books, physics, magic and fire-breathing metal horses. Treat yourself to this fantastic book!

Nightlord sunset

This is a fantastic book. The performance was excellent and the story fast paced and enthralling. I especially liked the new slant on vampires . I have already purchased the second book and can't wait for the third to be made available on audible. I can recommend this book to anyone who likes a well written story with a fast pace - you won't be disappointed
