Summary
"This brutally romantic mafia love story will grip you!" #1 New York Times bestselling author Helen Hardt
Arranged marriage, age-gap, mafia/cartel romance
Capo to the Luciano Famiglia was my birthright.
The cruelty needed to succeed in this life has been beaten into me since I was a young boy. My father, Vincent Luciano, taught by example and with the slap of his hand. My independent streak took me down paths my father would never have gone. With our enemies gaining strength, it is my idea to attempt an alliance with an unlikely bedfellow.
The Roríguez Cartel and the Luciano Famiglia are improbable partners, yet even Vincent Luciano can’t deny the possible benefits. The only way to solidify the deal is for me to marry Catalina Ruiz, the eldest daughter of Andres Ruiz, a top lieutenant in the Roríguez Cartel.
Catalina is young, beautiful, and thinks she understands the path she is being forced to follow. There is no way for her to know the monster she is about to wed. A man doesn’t become a made man at thirteen if he is capable of love. That emotion is beyond my scope of expertise. Saving the famiglia is my goal. And once this alliance is made, ours will be but the first of the brutal vows exchanged.

Dario and Catalina!
Born into the Mexican cartel Catalina has always known that her future would be arranged rather than chosen however she was unprepared that she was about to be married into the Italian mafia. She soon realizes that the Dario shows her is different than the Dario most people know and that he is a man she can build a life with.
Dario is a powerful man within the Luciano family and his marriage to Catalina will only make him more powerful. The only problem is that it is also makes him a target as he finds himself trying to protect Catalina while facing threats from both outside and within.
Suspense that keeps on you edge and surprises you don’t see coming. Through the performance of the narrators your could feel the strength and insecurities of Catalina as well as dark and dangerous side of Dario.

refreshing
Am so happy to have the gender narrators reading there own parts it was such a better experience. Thank you for that.
The story line is so grown up with grown up not miss communication for a change. just love the fact that they were honest and open with eachother. Am so feed up of adult have no communication and lot of unnecessary angst. Good storyline wanted more of them together ❤️ loved there interaction.

Dario and Catalina!
Who can write mafia romance better? Aleatha Romig is so good at the romantic suspense trope, and I couldn't wait to dive into this one! A bit taboo, age gap, and arranged marriage, I was sold. Catalina knew her place in the family, and when her father told her she was to marry an Italian Capo to be, she took it in stride. Surprised the family would cross from the cartel, the marriage was to strengthen both sides. Dario, a made man, picked Catalina out of the sisters to be his. A bit more mature but at least a decade older, he was ready to settle down. But what he wasn't ready for was a partner, a woman willing to talk, love and be with him. Catalina wanted to make it work, but breaking through his walls wouldn't be easy. As they get to know each other, more danger is coming, and the question is where is it from and why! Twists and turns, betrayal. passion and understanding all come through in this first book in the Brutal Vows series. It's fantastic and I can't wait to dig into book 2.
Gabriel Spires and Ruby Corazon are the story tellers for this one, and their duet narration is amazing. I love Spires, his portrayal of Dario is dangerous yet sweet all at the same time. He has an alpha tone, and keeps a vulnerability when it comes to Cat. Corazon is spot on as Catalina. She is smart and knows her role, and makes herself a partner in the marriage. She has a confidence and a playfulness at times that make Catalina real woman. Loved these two and enjoyed the narration.

Wow! I loved it!
This is the first book in the Brutal Vows Series, a standalone, arranged marriage, age-gap, mafia romance. Wow! I loved it. Dario and Catalina's story is breathtakingly captivating, filled with suspense, intrigue, danger, romance, and passion. I liked their slow burn romance. The world building between the Roríguez Cartel and the Luciano Famiglia is enthralling. Gabriel Spires and Ruby Corazon did an outstanding job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. Looking forward to listening to Till Death Do Us Part, the next book in the series.

It was ok …..
Though generally I enjoyed the story it was a little weak.
In fairness though following book series like consequences and betrayal is a tough one.
Look forward to the next in the series
