Rose Drayton lives on the Edge, between the world of the Broken (where people drive cars, shop at Wal-Mart, and magic is a fairy tale) and the Weird (where blueblood aristocrats rule, changelings roam, and the strength of your magic can change your destiny). Only Edgers like Rose can easily travel from one world to the next, but they never truly belong in either.

Rose thought if she practiced her magic, she could build a better life for herself. But things didn't turn out how she planned, and now she works a minimum wage, off-the-books job in the Broken just to survive. Then Declan Camarine, a blueblood noble straight out of the deepest part of the Weird, comes into her life, determined to have her (and her power).

But when a terrible danger invades the Edge from the Weird, a flood of creatures hungry for magic, Declan and Rose must work together to destroy them - or they'll devour the Edge and everyone in it....

the concept is great and the story development and character challenges was well organised. this is a great read.

I really enjoyed the story, the authors are favourites, I loved the hidden legacy and Kate Daniels series, this book is as good. The narrator irritates me she has the same style across all the series so in my head I keep thinking of other characters in others books, it's distracting. The world building is confusing to start with but it soon sank in, Rose is a great character and Declan is similar to Rogan so loved him

As a lover of the InnKeeper series this was a brilliant origin story for George Camaran, the Arbitrator. As we only get a small glimpse during that series. Rose and Declan have a doomed start as she makes assumptions and he helps her by not coming out with the truth. This alternative world takes a little time to get used to, with three worlds with in one. But the characters are well rounded and with many thing going on at the same time. Read brilliantly by Renee Raudman.

This is a wonderfully entertaining story with a dash of everything: action, adventure, magic, fantasy, horror, comedy, true love, good vs evil and more. The writing is absolutely engaging, the world building is excellent and the characters are fantastically likeable. The narration is brilliant and I definitely recommend spending time with this wonderful audiobook.

I love anything this husband and wife team write and also love Renee, their narrator. I didn’t think she quite got Declan’s voice though- the faux English accent was a bit annoying at times but the rest of the characters were done brilliantly as always. I love a fantasy romance but although very satisfying, the romance is only half the story. Iona Andrews do great adventures too. A real escapist bit of fiction where goodness and bravery conquers all!

I found Ilona Andrew’s books years ago when travelling, so they have the ability to illicit positive feelings.
It helps that this story is well written and in a similar mould to other series.

Uncomplicated, easy listening fantasy tale

Rose Drayton and her two young brothers exist between worlds in ‘The Edge’.; a strip of land wedged between the magically oblivious ‘Broken’ (a parallel universe Earth), and the magically abundant ‘Weird’. With the help of her Hedge Witch Grandmother Rose works hard to raise her brothers until the day visitors come to the Edge bringing adventure, danger and romance.

Suspenseful paranormal adventure with romance

If you're into that genre, this is the book for you. Even more so if you're a white and privileged woman.
I don't think a woman of some minority or simply a woman that faced any hardship in her life would find this romantic. Not in this day and age:
-No people of colour, except some minor characters with Hispanic names.
-A woman that falls for a man that wants to own her. Like a slave! And she wants him to own her!
I couldn't relate..

But some characters are really cute. I really liked the boys and was listening on in the hopes that their future will end well.

This is by far the WORST narration I've heard on audible. One of the main characters had a French name and it was repeatedly butchered throughout the book. Any attempt at any accent sounds somewhere between Russian and Spanish, no matter what it actually should be, and it's simply horrible. The narrator's ability to act different characters is good, but she forgets sometimes to "switch it off" when transferring to narration lines and so it's like those characters are suddenly narrating whole bits of the book, which doesn't work.

All in all... I didn't enjoy it. But fans of the genre might..
