About this listen

When shadow-monsters attack in the cafeteria, eighth grader Penny Preston panics, starts a food fight, and unknowingly creates a trans-dimensional rift. Summoned to the counselor’s office, she expects suspension, but instead discovers that she is misaligned and exists in more than three dimensions. Unless she immediately begins training to learn to handle her powerful abilities, she risks losing her sanity.

She agrees to secretly train with her counselor and his friend Master Poe, an exile from the seventh dimension trapped in a raven’s body, to keep her hometown, Piper Falls, safe from higher-dimensional beings seeking to gain god-like powers in our dimension.

Together with Simon, her telepathic multidimensional cat, Penny struggles to save her relationship with her best friend, protect her universe, and uncover her connection to Arthurian myth.

So this is definitely not my usual story or genre but thought I would give it a go because I usually get on well with the narrator.

It took me a few goes to get into the story - I could see that is well developed and the characters were intriguing. I am so sure that it will appeal to people who like this genre.

I enjoyed listening to this book although it's far from my usual genres. The characters are well defined and well narrated by the brilliant Michelle Babb. Not sure I'd read more of the series but this one was seriously appreciated. *****

Thoroughly enjoyable story. it was a novel take on well known myths that brought them into the modern world. a good part of the fun is spotting all of the links to other well known tales and seeing how they are explained and integrated into the main story. The performance was good and brought a lot of personality to the characters. very well read and made for very easy listening. A good way to relax at the end of the day.

I was very impressed with book, I was taken on an adventure through the eyes of a teenager who was misaligned, its very captivating and imaginative. The book is very written and had a good amount of detailing with perfectly suited characters.
The narration is flawless, really giving the story a nice feel.
I would definitely recommend this book.

This was an excellent book!I think it was geared for the YA crowd,maybe younger,but I enjoyed it.Penny does not know she has special talents until being called to the office one day.She fears she is going to be in trouble over a school food fight.Her life is about to change.Michelle Babb did a fine job narrating.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A tiny bit slow to start, but once it does, well! what's not to love about this wonderful story?
Very good and listenable narration.
