About this listen
How do you find yourself after you lose the one you loved the most?
Lenny has been a bit of a mess since her best friend, Lou, passed away. She's avoiding her concerned parents, her apartment and the list of things she's supposed to do to enjoy life again. The only thing she can handle right now is babysitting a precocious seven-year-old, Ainsley. And if Lenny acts like she's fine, maybe no one will notice she's falling apart. The only issue: Ainsley's uncle, Miles, is always there and is kind of . . . a huge jerk.
But Miles sees right through her. He knows a lot about grief and offers her a deal: he'll help her complete her "live again" list if she'll help him re-connect with Ainsley and his sister. Lenny doubts anything can help, but as she begins to spend more time with Miles, she begins to see that, sometimes, losing everything can be the first step to finding yourself again.

Love the book
the narrative is amazing and will be following her. I love the story overall my only issue I have is that it should have an epilogue to see more from his end and how life looks a few years down

Well read, great story, heart warming
A fantastic book that has you laughing one minute and crying the next! Brilliant characters that are brought to life as the story unfolds.

Excellent
Cara Bastone never disappoints. The characters are always fully dimensional, real people who you can fall in love with. My one gripe is that sometimes the narration is so OTT it makes the FMC irritating, but that's her interpretation of the writing. If I was reading it, I think I'd have taken it differently. MMC may be her best yet. The story is heart wrenching sometimes and had me in tears on more than one occasion. If you're currently grieving, this will either be really helpful or really triggering.

A little repetitive
Felt a little long. Sadly my least favourite Cara book. It was ok but it felt slow and drawn out

WOW READ THIS RIGHT NOW
WRITING: 10/10
PERFORMANCE: 10/10
OH MY GOD THIS BOOK BROKE ME AND PULLED ME BACK TO LIFE. I feel like a part of me (a huge part of me) has been healed and oh my god does it feel good! Cara Bastone, WOW. Please never ever retire- you are so simply THE best writer of this generation.
For new Bastone readers, her other books read just as beautifully! I feel like Maybe This Time and Call Me Maybe would be great for anyone who enjoyed this audiobook- both by Bastone! Anyways, don’t mind me just coming back to read this 10000000 times over whenever I need a cuddle.
Bonus points if you read it in your luteal phase- it’ll make you laugh & cry🥰
