Summary
In this remarkable audiobook, Ray Goggins takes us on an exhilarating journey through his incredible career and draws on the valuable lessons he's learned to help all of us deal better with life, whatever the situation.
The path I have travelled, the things I have done and the people I have met in crisis situations have given me a window into those qualities that make us perform. My military training created a mindset, an outlook and skills that can be channelled into any situation.
From the hills of South Lebanon to the monsoon jungles of Southern Asia, Ray Goggins has operated in a life-and-death world. In the suffocating humidity of Liberia, the mountains of Afghanistan and the snow-covered Balkans, Goggins has seen the best and worst qualities in himself and others. From conflict zones to terrorist attacks and hostage rescues, Ray has learned the greatest life lessons: how to control fear, how to react calmly and positively and how to create a strong baseline from which to take action.

Gripping and funny
Absolutely loved this book. Especially loved the story of his family life as i could strongly relate. Ray has overcome a lot in his life and exemplifies the traits of a good leader.
It was one of those books where i was sad when it was over because i could have kept listening for hours more

Excellent view into the ARW
Great book giving a.little insight into the Irish special forces teams. Very secretive and highly trained elite group. Ray writes from the heart and knows how to get his point across easily and clearly (possibly down to his training in the SF) easy to listen to and properly interesting.

Loved it, flew through the book.
Ray has a great story to tell.
The narrator was very good but I personally like when people read their own story...hopefully Ray will do the next one himself.
I would and will recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the military and or mindset.

Entertaining insight into the Irish Army.
a remarkable insight into the ARW. But I feel something things where left out like any contacts made with insurgents or enemy forces while serving in Africa.
A very good and honest listen into Ray's life.

No work is in vain.
The book overall is very good, as a former PDF member I can relate to some of the experiences but as a person the story of Ray is very much of a down to earth guy who shares many life experiences in and out of the Army. Well done Ray. Regards Michael

Exemplary
Just finished this book. Really a pleasure to read and pleasantly surprised by the pace of it.
A good well balanced insight to one man's journey through his time with our Defence Forces.
I served 23 and 8 operational tours.
Nice to hear some familiar names. Especially killer mentioned. RIP John.
I will definitely recommend this to anyone interested in not just a good story but a great example of integrity, honesty endurance and leadership.
