book 2, as good as the first
loving this series...the way it's written, the story, the characters, the romance, the spice and Noel Harrison's voice could melt the knickers off a nun!

Why does the male narrator sound 70?
I really enjoy the story, but the young voice of the female narrator vs the older male narrator was a bit jarring and took away the realism of their relationship. Also how one minute he would have the slight Scottish accent and then sound like my grandad was just weird. I know Shadow is supposed to have the slight accent so it was annoying that this wasn't consistent because when the narrator actually did the accent it made him sound younger, and for me the voice matching the character is really important.

Great read
the narrator's are great as well as the story, this is the 2nd book so I'm off to read the next one now as I can't wait to find out what happens next

Second story is brilliant too!
Really enjoyed this second book with all its unique ups and downs and relationships. Now just can't wait for book 3!

Annoyance and Sadness
Why the switch up at the end of this book 15 minutes towards then end it’s like the entire story has been slapped to the beginning and it’s like WHYYYYY. But I’ll be listening to book 3 hopefully my mind and sanity can be reclaimed

Great story plot
Good series to get lost in .. female narrator excellent. Male narrator not a good choice as he sounds like an old fisherman and is not a good fit for the voice of the male characters and distracts you from the story at times.. however the world building and character personalities are well written/described .. would recommend

Holy shit…. Need the lest book like NOW!
Ok so this book is great too just like the first. A lot of twists and turns, some a bit predictable and others totally bonkers and taking you totally by surprise.
So this series so far is masterfully written but just like the first book some things are a bit… grappling. You know how sometimes some things that need to make the intimate part of relationships move forward can feel a bit on the nose, over explained and in your face? Yeah that.. it happens every now and again which is the only reason for a non complete 5 star review in this case.
Aside from that though. Holy shit what a great book. Jumping the next one straight away. Love the characters, love the alternate plot development and it not being a straight up generic shifter romance (all though I totally love my self some of those too). It brings a new element into the whole genre with the twists and turns of different realms and I’m so here for it.
Also never forget the amazing narration. Perfection! On to the next.
