Red Dwarf - Better Than Life is the second and final instalment of this hilarious sci-fi comedy.

Narrated by Chris "Rimmer" Barrie, Better Than Life finds the crew trapped in a mind-boggling computer game that is threatening their lives and safety of the ship. One by one, they enter the game to rescue each other - and one by one, they become trapped! Holly will have to use his mega brain to solve this one.

Pulled off by reaching down your neck. Or so says David Lister. I freaking LOVE these stories. I loved (actually, still do) the TV series and these audio books are barely pale in comparison. I want more I want more more more more!

Better than having the label on your underpants...

Brilliantly read, great story, still one of my favourite audio books after all this time.

still holds up 25 years later.

Fills in so many story lines
And Chris barrie’s impressions are spot on
Highly recommend even if you don’t know about the show

Amazing

Don't read it without reading the first book, but having done that (or with a healthy enjoyment of the TV series), you'll enjoy this one. Probably better than the first, great reading (& impressions) by Chris Barrie.

Great, classic Red Dwarf

I'm not sure which came first the show or the books but these books contain the episodes from the show but link them together into one long story, which flows really well while also adding in extra bits.
Perhaps the starting part, where they are stuck in the game lasts abit to long and by the end Rimmer doesn't seem quite as self-centred, actually quite eager to help at times but these are just small nit-picks in an otherwise amazing story.
Though the theme tune playing at the end of chapters is abit annoying after awhile, makes it seems like an episode ending but because it's one long story, doesn't always for well.
Also brilliantly narrated by Chris Barrie, actually sounds like the full cast at times.
BUT ends on a cliffhanger, where is part 3?!

Fan of Dwarf Crew? This is s must listen.

Don't expect the TV episodes read instead of acted, this is a mixture of old and new and as funny as ever. All the old characters are there but with expanded roles for some of the minor ones and several new creatures to enjoy or shudder at! If you're a Dwarfy fan then this will be right up your street!

Scrambled but intact!

What did you like most about Red Dwarf: Better Than Life?

This wasn't just a recant of the Red Dwarf scripts, rather a distant re-imagined cousin. Don't expect to be regaled with stories from the show, but be pleasantly surprised by slightly familiar plot-lines and situations.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Red Dwarf: Better Than Life?

Lister making an unbreakable suit of armour - then not being able to move.

What about Chris Barrie’s performance did you like?

Loved it, Chris Barrie (Rimmer) is an absolute genius,

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Having been a fan of the TV series I wondered if the zany chemistry between the characters would be there in the book. Chris Barrie's talent with voices makes seem like the TV crew had been assembled again. Fantastically entertaining story brilliantly read.

High quality sci-fi comedy
