Enlightening
This is an honest, almost soul baring experience of late diagnosis of autism in women. But it’s more than that, it’s an account of a woman who has lived through it; who is also a highly qualified and experienced professional in the fields of psychology and psychotherapy. The author tells her story and uses it to help the reader navigate their own journey through late diagnosis, with a supportive and informative approach. As a recently diagnosed 50 year old, I have found so much comfort in hearing accounts that resonate so clearly with my own. I’ve a long way to go but I’m so glad I found this book at the right time for me, and will no doubt be referring back to it time and time again.
As an aside, the preview of the audiobook wasn’t especially helpful, as it only covered the author’s opening appreciation of important people in her life, rather than an glimpse of the way the book was written. Fortunately I found a longer clip on YouTube, and once I heard more of Catherine’s story, I felt compelled to come back to Audible and purchase this audiobook. I’ve since bought a paper copy too, as I know it will be a useful reference.

Amazing book 🤩
This book has been fantastic to listen to. As a newly diagnosed person with ASD and possible ADHD at the age of 52, I found the book and its contents so familiar with just about every penny dropping moment possible. Catherine Asta speaks with such honesty and a wealth of knowledge. I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who has received a diagnosis of autism late in life. The book is so good, I binge listened to it in one day and on the release date.

Narration difficult to follow
I pre-ordered this title and was really looking forward to hearing the content, sadly I found the narration very difficult to absorb. I experienced it as quiet and monotonic, obviously I tried upping the volume on different equipment but I think I need a voice with more variation to hold my attention.
Returned the item and will now order an electronic copy of the book to better absorb the text. I feel confident that the book has a lot of useful content so I am now off to order it.
