Summary

Manastorms have kept the world disconnected for hundreds of years, but with the recent changes to mana, the storms have calmed.

Now, ancient sorcerers are pouring into Dorrinthal from all over the world for their chance to gain complete control over sorcery. Meanwhile, the miraculous, legendary golden plum Jon Oklar has returned, and soaks attention faster than Tarak's instructor chugs ales. Will he turn out to be an ally, or just another pain in the arse?

Alliances must be made, but there isn't enough time to find out who can be trusted. Tarak might just have to go with the best of the worst. There are many new sorcerers from faraway lands, thanks to the magnificent Jon Oklar, as well as new sorcery to discover.

Tarak is finding that, for the first time in his life, he needs order. There's no other way to defeat this havoc. He will have to empower himself through hard work and ingenuity if he wants to stand a chance against the threats to Dorrinthal. If only he didn't have so many damn distractions within reach—the engaged princess, ale from other worlds to try, the food of the castle…more ale to try.

The ancient sorcerers have been drinking without paying for hundreds of years. Someone now has to put an end to their freeloading, and it might just have to be Tarak.
