A solid book three.

A well written and narrated continuation of Cammarry and Jerome's quest to find out more about their new home. Exploring more of the colony ship Conestoga and dealing with all the problems past events and the ships disrepair throws up. Before you listen to this book I would recommend listing to the first two to get the most out of this book.

The characters are well written and the dialogue and interactions between the main characters are interesting and believable.

The narration is of good quality, is easy to listen to and enhances the tension of the story. Each character sounds unique and their emotions as well as the stress of the situations just increases how engaging the story is. I did not encounter any errors in the recording.

I very much enjoyed this book and I believe it is better than the first two in this series. I am looking forward to finding out what happens in the next book.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Like a rat down it's tunnel

The third in the Conestoga Colony Ship series by John Thornton finds Cammary and Jerome still struggling to find an acceptable life in their new home. They, accompanied by the irrepressible Kin, decide to revisit the planet Zahlia around which their ship is circling, this time heading for a different habitat, Beta. A communications link seems to indicate that this, like Alpha, is inhabited. And it is - but is very different from the lush environment they had visited before and what the finally discover shocks them immensely.

Another ingenious and enjoyable adventure of two of the survivors from Earth's Dome 17, this one increasingly sinister. Narrator Lauren Holladay does a reasonable job with the reading, though there are some odd pronunciations. She reads clearly and with good intonation and her character voicings, if not very distinct, are there. She does not attempt to immigrate Kin's laugh, thank goodness, no sing the song, instead simply reciting it.

A good, simple, but enjoyable follow on science fiction story in the Conestoga series set within the wider Colony Ship world.

Great read!

Any additional comments?

This book has more action adventure and ends on a cliffhanger. There is more violence with some slow moments and suspense. The series gets more interesting as it progress from one book to another.
I felt sorry for Jerome in this book. He tried so hard when it came to Cammarry and yet nothing seemed to work. But what I love about him is that he never gives up.
There is no profanity or sexual content.
I am really looking forward to book four.
I thought the narrator did a great job in voicing the characters.

Now what ?

The author John Thornton continues with the mess which was created by a broken artificial intelligence on the Conestoga creating a slavery rule by getting the settlers who made it down to the new planet addicted to an unknown substance.
While the ones that are still on the ship Conestoga pretty much fell back into the dark ages.

Lauren Holladay have done a great job narrating this book.
