Summary

The skeleton detective is coming back to life… again! It’s the tenth, triumphant novel in the Skulduggery Pleasant series, and it will rearrange your world.

Skulduggery and Valkyrie are back in the tenth instalment in the bestselling Skulduggery Pleasant series – an incredible and unexpected treat for the legions of fans around the world.

We can’t say much but we can say this: Skulduggery and Valkyrie are going to team up with beloved characters from the first 9 books as well as an all-new cast, including new teen co-star Omen Darkly, for an adventure that takes the story to truly global proportions… while answering questions that go right back to the beginning.

And Derek says this: “I was halfway through Last Stand of Dead Men, I think, when I realised that I had more stories to tell. I told myself that if Skulduggery and Valkyrie survived the series, I would leave the option open of returning to their world. There were still secrets I need to reveal, after all, and there were still horrors they had to face. They survived the first series. But they’re really going to wish they hadn’t.”

What a book to come out on my birthday

I liked the way the act was played out and the way the narater imitateing the voices bad ones and evil once. I and i hope more skulduggery book follow this one. I dont think there was something to dislike and i would reckermend this book to people who like fantence action and other. I gave it this rateing because it is abit funny when someone at a touch that person goes crazy least of all skullduggery him self that was very funny.

Resurrection - Derek Landy

The book and story were great but I didn't think the narrator suited it though.

An exciting story, with uniquely voiced characters

a big fan of the books, and having read this one a long time ago, this was my first audiobook. I love this opening to the second series of Skulduggery. I enjoy how Landy portrays Valkyrie following the events of the end of the first series, sprinkling in her moments of struggle in otherwise normal moments - a great representative of mental health issues. I love the story with its new characters, powers and plot.

I'm pleased the narrator is Irish and gives each character such a unique voice. I have started my second audiobook and struggle more to follow as the narrator does not change their voice much when the main character is speaking. I liked this portrayal of most characters, although I imagine China speaking differently.

Another Amazing Addition

My wife and I have been addicted to these books since day dot and this did not disappoint. We have really enjoyed listening to this one on our journeys to holidays making them even more special. Thank you .

Better than expected

Would you listen to Resurrection again? Why?

I love all the Skulduggery books and although no narrator will ever be as good as Rupert Degas who did the BEST Skulduggery voice, Stephen Hogan was Ok. However, Caroline Lennon could only do 3 voices, English for Tannith, Nor'n Irish for China and her own voice for everyone else. This makes it hard when there is a lot of dialogue to make out who's saying what. I still liked the book and would listen again though.

What other book might you compare Resurrection to, and why?

Um, the rest of the series? This book has been panned by so many fans of the series and it IS a bit...'less' than previous books, mainly because Derek Landy is so fond of killing off much-loved characters and there's only really 3 originals left! I liked Omen Darkly, the new hapless hero - he would have sounded a lot more like I imagined him if it had been a male narrator, Lennon made him sound just wet

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Good grief, no, the book is over 14hrs long!

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to the next instalment but please let it be Rupert Degas or Stephen Hogan!!

Another perfect book but terrible narrator

I absolutely enjoy the whole series, book 10 is no exception, it’s so unfortunate that narrator makes it unbearable to enjoy books in audio.

Stephen Hogan or better yet Robert Degas should narrate books all books.

glad to have the dynamic duo back, but...

apart from some reading errors (unless I misheard) the quality has improved on the previous books, but the story felt a bit lack luster. this new traumatized personality, while understandable and probably realistic for what they've been through, is boring to listen to compared to before.
