Rip it up and read again.
Which if you follow the advice of the author you won't be able to do.
I find Richard Wiseman an interesting and thought provoking writer. I enjoy his books immensely, helped in great part, by the narration of Peter Noble.
I'd recommend his books to anyone and everyone.

ACT
Hundreds of examples proving inconclusively that "if you ACT you will feel."
William James 100 year old theory is the first (and probably the only) theory to follow.
"Behaviour causes emotion" William James. Forget trying to get emotion right first. Just Act as if by lifting shoulders & smiling when thinking of stuff. This will bring happy thoughts.
Procrastination. "Just ACT as if you like the activity." Pull the activity towards you. ACT AS IF YOU WILL ENJOY IT.
If you want a quality, ACT as if you already have it. "Act and you will feel".
Exercise is worth doing. Just do the first step.
"Stand up. Shoulders back. Smile." Forget all other mind control techniques inc PMA etc
The book is a bit boring as there are seemingly millions of examples which prove beyond doubt that William James is the man.

Excellent content. Requires a few reads
The last time I was this blown away by a nonfiction book was You're Not So Smart. As I did with that book, I have bought a physical copy so that I can take notes and look up some of the research it mentions.

Wise words
Having read a hell of a lot of these kind of books, including Richard Wisemans other work some of the anecdotes, studies become familiar classics. Having worked with troubled individuals for twenty years I was not keen on having my beliefs destroyed by Richards book. As it happened I think they complimented and confirmed much of the work I already did despite disagreeing on why it worked. This and his other work I highly recommend. Definitely worth a listen if not a read.

Really well read and engaging
There is only one principle discussed in the book but demonstrated in different ways which really useful and interesting. Worth a listen for sure

Solid themes told Simply
Enjoyed the core psychology behind the book. The story telling is somewhat repetitive and the ‘exercises’ are really suited to an audiobook.

Most listen together with the hard copy
Book contains strong and applicable suggestions. Hard copy felt needed for the exercise purpose. 'As if' concept was hard to understand. hence I am listening and reading it again

Different
This book is rather different to other books in the self help field. It's idea is basically that changing behavior' as if 'it is will lead to significant improvements in one's life. The author gives many different studies in order to argue his points. I found the book really good but some of the studies seemed a bit quirky and unusual. The Narrator was excellent and I recommend this book

As if principle
Really interesting. Well read audiobook, and great content as usual from Wiseman. Focus’ on William James’ “as if” principle. I’m a teacher and I use this kind of positive psychology to increase the success of my students. Ties in nicely with, “you are what you repeatedly do, therefore excellence (and good mental health) is a habit”. I already knew about the @as if” principle, but I learned a lot of new information, and practical actions to take, from this book. Development of the principle backed up with scientific research throughout decades. This principle needs more mainstream exposure.
