A Great Read

A really good full story, with plenty of twists and turn. It has suspense, strength, intrigue and romance! Loved it!

Great novel full of twists and turns. Great character development!

I normally love Jeffrey Deaver novels, having started with those about Lincoln Rhymes where the Dance character first makes an appearance and is often also referred to.
I like these novels every bit as much, relying on body language and good interview techniques rather than forensics gives you the chance to explore human nature more and crafted this into an intriguing thriller with personal relationships intertwined and interwoven that you really want to keep listening.
Great audio, though my pet peeve as ever, as a Brit, is to hear of someone ‘rifling through…’ pronounced as ‘riffling’ as we pronounce it to sound like the gun..but that’s my only negative, haha, so it must be a great book!

narration

Disappointing narration after listening to The Sleeping Doll. Downward intonation and staccato stress made for similar and repetitive sounding aggressive voices. Affected the brilliant storyline for me.

Not one of his best

OK not one of the best got fed up about all the filler (the blog address and the explanation of what she does for a living) It made it seem his readers could not remember what the characters main abilities were.

SLOW START BUT ENJOYABLE

I thought the reader was good, and represented Catherine Dance's thoughts and feelings well. It was a bit slow at the beginning, but I did get caught up in it eventually. Not as good as the majority of Deaver books though.

Just ok

An enjoyable enough read but it didn't have the usual Jeffrey Deaver flair and flavour...almost as if someone else had written it. I did find myself getting bored in places.

Great

really like these books, really gripping and enjoyable.. however, the word kinesics is used so many times it's almost laughable. I appreciate the main character is an expert but it's just so over used it's really weird.

An average book spoiled!!

The story was ok though it did get a bit boring in places. Two things that really ruined it for me was the way the author tries to use 'street talk' for the teenagers that just seemed too over the top.
But the main reason I didn't enjoy this book is that it has a lady narrator but 90% of the characters are men, and a woman talking in deep voices is just too much distraction!!

Roadside Crosses

the story is as brilliant as ever. The narration was unemotional , bland, she might as well be reading a shopping list . I'm used to narrators actually acting and used g different accents or ways of a character speaking. The story was fantastic Jeffrey aced it again

Unusual story

I feel like I endured this story, it was hard to get into and by this time I was 3 quarters in so just listened to the rest. I found the narrators voice a little mundane so I felt I had an achievement finishing this book.
