From the outset I was hooked and listened over 2 days.

I really related to Jude - she’s a hardworking, fiercely independent woman who starts experiencing strange things in the night. They feel very real to her but with no proof will anyone believe her?

Cleverly written to keep you guessing - is Jude being stalked? Has someone been in her house? Is she is drinking too much? Or is she having a mental breakdown?

I loved how prominently her dog Oscar featured through out - her true love and her rock.

A very strong first book and I look forward to reading more from this author.

This first novel by Jess Whitby is a mystery exploring whether the protagonist is being stalked or becoming mentally ill. I found it a little over-written, making it too long before we knew what was going on. I’d suggest that the perspectives of other characters were probably unnecessary. Without them, the story would have been tighter. I also think I would have enjoyed it much more had it been narrated by a professional. That may have enabled me to give the story a higher rating. However, since it is self published, I am aware, and sympathetic to the author’s financial constraints. It rarely works well though when authors narrate their own work.
