Summary
I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident. I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed - her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left... I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed. I relaxed.
And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved. I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept. The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary. Because - four hours earlier - my twin sister killed herself.

A valuable thought-provoking story!
This book is very powerful - It's emotional, intense, thought-provoking, and educational. It could help in spotting the signs that someone is struggling, and therefore enable people to help them before it's too late. The book explains how signs aren't always easy to recognise. It's easy to think after an event what you should have understood or done differently, but that doesn't meen it's anyone's fault. The book also shows how sometimes no signs are given, or how they may easily be misinterpreted. As I have never personally had to deal with a situation like this I'm sure the story didn't effect me in the same way it would effect others, though it did still bring me to tears. When I was a pre-teen I watched a movie called Friendship Kills, which I never forgot and believe taught me the dangers of eating disorders. I hope this book will help educate people in a more interesting way than leaflets or text books could. I myself have struggled with OCD for years, and without the loving support of my family I don't think I'd still be here. Some people unfortunately don't open up about their problems even if they have people who care.
I would personally categorise this book as a drama with the addition of romance, more so than a romance or even romantic drama, as the drama comes from grief, with bullying added in, rather than Macenzie and Ryan's relationship. An amazing author and great narrator who bought depth and emotion to the reading.

very good!
It's refreshing to listen to a romance book where two people conect and find love and comfort through their shared experience of grief. It was an emotional and heartfelt listen. What stood out the most was the fantastic narration. Theresa plummer does a first class job of bringing this story to life and the emotions to the table with her voice acting. Her young male voice was exceptional. This was the perfect book for her to narrate. Don't be put off by the subject matter. It's well worth the credit.

EXCELLENT topic, excellent approach, excellent.
Listening to this book was absolutely devastating and at the same time liberating.
Once again the author did not disappoint, such strong and shocking emotions for such a raw and painful reality that almost no one talks about.
In 9 hours I went back 30 years and finally I "felt" that someone understood me.
EXCELLENT topic, excellent approach, excellent.

Really good listen
We start with the death of a twin. The MFC crawls into Ryan’s bed and for some reason it makes her feel better, comforts her, and there begins the relationship.
It’s quite a slow burn, not overly steamy which is good given their ages and the situation. Her parents are basically MIA so she’s left to deal with her grief the best she can. There is lots of inner dialogue where we get to know what’s going in in her mind, and how she’s processing her grief. Ryan is a great MMC, supportive and just there for her, we have the usual high school drama that accompanies Tijan books, but I really do love a good villain who gets her comeuppance in the end, although we are left guessing in this as to who the real “big bad” is.
Narrator does a great job throughout, the performance making my heart break at times.
There’s also a twist at the end!

amazing
you know how some books run out of steam towards the end and they just feel like bits just get rushed? Well this one feels like it was wrapped around the ending, without any spoilers, gave me chills, made my heart break and melt for the characters, just brilliant

Heart breaking
Absolutely heart wrenching. Tijan really knows how to pull on your heart strings. I Ffestiniog so close to these characters I’ve had a family member that had committed suicide so I know how painstakingly heartbreak it is to live and continue to live through it. Thank you Tijan for writing about suicide. It is something that should be spoken about, it should have some awareness brought onto it.
