About this listen
I shouldn't have remembered him. He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn't know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all. But I could feel him. The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated. The second time was different. He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed. That was just the beginning. He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name...Cole Mauricio.

Another amazingly suspenseful Tijan story!
What a rush! Cole’s story was so exhilarating and heartwarming all at the same time. Despite the secrets, mystery and deceit, Addison and Cole were able to not only survive but thrive. Their connection and love was real and raw. The narration of this book was done so well by Laura and Stephen!

Great book
I loved reading about Cole. Having met him in Carter Reed I knew we’d need his story. It was enthralling and heartbreaking at times. It had some darker elements too. Great narration tho

Well worth the wait
Hooked!!! From the first page. As a huge fan of Tijan's writing I wasn't surprised, especially due to the fact that Carter Reed is up there in my Top 10 favourite book boyfriends ever. Cole Mauricio (who we met in Carter Reed) is now my ultimate mob boss. I'm so fickle! First up we meet Addison Bowman, widowed a year earlier and her dreams/nightmares are still plaguing her. Leaving the home she shared with her husband she moves into the illusive, exclusive, Mauricio building where she eventually meets and befriends Cole. Unaware that Cole is the owner of her building and one of the most powerful people in the city, a relationship forms. Addison is aware that there is a lot more to Cole than he's willing to share, but he actually makes her 'feel alive' something she's not felt in a year. It turns out that there is a lot more happening in both their lives and nothing is quite as it seems. With so many twists and turns, intense chemistry between all the characters and a wonderfully written story, I cannot praise the book enough. Well worth the wait.
I loved the narration, just perfect.

A mafia book full of secrecy.
The story is action packed from start to finish. It comes after the Carter Reid books time wise but you don’t need to have read them to enjoy Cole.
Cole Mauricio is a guy with presence. He oozes power, authority and a real good time. Addison sees him walk through a restaurant and just can’t get him out of her head. When they finally meet, their relationship is built on secrets. There’s an action packed storyline interwoven with betrayal and revenge. This couple are electric when they’re together. Cole brings Addison back to life and Addison makes Cole yearn for a life that’s less lonely. They shouldn’t fit but they do. Their connection is undeniable and you get completely sucked into this underworld.
This was my first time listening to Stephen Dexter and Laura Darrell narrate and I loved them. It’s so nice to find new voices. The majority of the book is from Addison’s point of view so Laura does most of the narrating. She easily conveyed Addison’s emotions, you really felt like you were in her head. Stephen’s voice was strong but at times desperate. He did a great job of bringing Cole to life. All in all a fantastic audiobook.

Good story
I bought this book because Stephen Dexter was advertised as one of the narrators. Imagine my utter disappointment to find he only narrates one 15 min chapter. Ms Darrell’s performance was very good, however her attempts at the male voice sounded ridiculous. Alpha male sounding somewhat pre-pubescent, when I was expecting the wonderful tones and performance from Mr Dexter. Thought I’d mention it to give fans of Mr Dexter’s performances the heads up. He’s not really in it.

Okay!
Not amazing or overly engaging but okay. Wouldn’t read anymore in the series. Found the female narrator a bit bland

Flat book
The Cole book was very flat and boring there was no excitement to it I have to stop listening to it then start again 2 days later and the only reason for that was I paid £7.99 for the audible but I was a wasted of money. I was more interested in Carter and Emma that’s the only other reason why I continue to listen to it. When I listen to Carter Reed book I could not stop listening I was on the edge of my seat. Even in Cole book Carter present was more powerful than Cole. As the head of his mafia family in this book Cole was weak and Addison was even more boring. In the Carter Reed books Carter was mafia from start to finish he had people scared and they know not to F**k with him. Even Cole was scared of him that a badass man Carter Reed. It would have been better if Tijan brought out another Carter Reed book out than Cole.
