While on an expedition looking for a lost city high in the Andes, adventurer Paul Sabre is ambushed and left for dead. However Sabre is not an easy man to kill and he takes up the trail of the villainous Jorge Montoya, a Bolivian treasure hunter who holds Shelly Newmar, Sabre's love captive. Attacked by demon-winged beasts, the expedition is in shambles. Montoya heads higher up the mountain looking for the legendary Temple of the Sun said to be guarded by the Hawkmen of Hiratu, a race said to pre-date the Incas. But Sabre is on his trail, hoping to defeat Montoya and rescue the beautiful Shelly Newmar!
