Summary
Lord Thornby has been trapped on his father's isolated Yorkshire estate for a year. There are no bars or chains; he simply can't leave. His sanity is starting to fray.
When industrial magician John Blake arrives to investigate a case of witchcraft, he finds the peculiar, arrogant Thornby as alarming as he is attractive. John soon finds himself caught up in a dark fairy tale, where all the rules of magic - and love - are changed.

An interesting story beside being a good romance
Loved the story itself. The romance part was good but the story stood out as more complex than what I had initially thought of expected from a gay romance.

Brilliant!
Well this was f*cking brilliant! Didn't have super high expectations but they were beyond blown. Intriguing mystery, tantalising romance, hot smut (I could of done with more of it, but that's a testament to the quality), character depth and realistic social dynamics. Creates a fascinating world, worth exploring, for many more hours than provided in this very satisfying tale.

Fun
Some parts of the story are too silly for my taste (like s*x magic and bed scenes). I also expected it to go deeper, like a mystery within a mystery, but it didn't. Yet it was quite entertaining, which is the most important thing, I suppose. Audio performance is high quality, my respect for the actor (I wonder if he laughed while recording; I know I would).

Great Read!
I really enjoyed this one! God knows I have a sweet spot for historical fantasy-and when there's gay spice, it's even better 😉 This didn't disappoint: interesting plot, mythology/folklore, enjoyable characters...
My only complain was the ending for the romance because it felt more like an HFN ending than a HEA. As a first book in a series, the ending would have been fine but since it's a standalone, it was too open and I'm personnally not a fan of it. I needed more concrete plans for their romantic future.

Amazing!
I had it in my wish list for some time but only got to listen to it now. What a great book!
Loved the story and fantasy/magic in it, great characters, plot etc. The narration goes very well with the story. Nothing bad to say about it, it was awesome! I highly recommend it!!

Surprising story!
So, I'll be honest, this story very much surprised me.
i went in expecting some raunchy, smut-fest, with a vague, Victorian-fantasy-esque, tint to it. But the plotline, twists, and world building genuinely reeled me in and kept me hooked!

Fantastic story
Brilliant writing and excellent narration! The story is full of twists and turns throughout. The sexy bits are just that- very sexy and the narrator does a fantastic job of making them erotic and not uncomfortable! I hope there’s a sequel!
