About this listen

Jack Nightingale fights his battles in the shadows - in the grey areas where the real world meets the supernatural. But when he arrives in San Francisco to take on a group of Satanists bent on opening a doorway to hell, the danger is out in the open and all too real.

The Apostles - a Satanic coven using murder and torture to pave the way for a demon to enter the real world - realise that Nightingale is on their tail and unleash their own brand of monsters to take him down.

With Nightingale’s life - and his very soul - on the line, he has only days to stop The Apostles from bringing death and destruction to the entire world.

I love this series

As I say in my headline I absolutely love this series. This story lacks none of the humour and good plain old story telling of the other 4 books. I just cannot rate Jack Nightingale stories high enough, and as I have put on all my other reviews Paul Thornley's narration just puts the cherry on the cake. Love it Love it Love it

Another Brilliant Jack Nightingale book

I'm glad Stephen Leather has decided to keep Jack Nightingale alive. I thought 'Last Night' was going to be his last book the way it ended. This book is gripping and funny in places.Narration was good and made it easy to know which character was which. A good Supernatural read. Listened to it all in one go from getting up in the morning to early evening. Hope we are going to hear more of Jack Nightingale.

Jack Nightingale is the best

Another gripping tale from Stephen Leather. I strongly recommend starting at the beginning of this series as they are all excellent. Thornley is a master narrator, my favorite. Jack Nightingale is a lovable, funny, risk taking rogue who you just have to follow in his suspense filled adventures.

Good book that continues Nightingales adventures

Great book, a couple of holes in the story links to earlier books but all in all, very good! Would like to see Jenny back but .. you can’t have everything

San Francisco Nights

I can’t believe Jack Nightingale hasn’t changed his name after faking his own death in the previous book, granted he’s shifted across the pond but nevertheless I found that ridiculous and yes I know it’s a supernatural type of novel but first thing you’d do isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong I enjoy these books and love our maverick Mancunian I just found that strange! I packed up smoking for 8 years but picked up the dirty habit again at Christmas and yes I smoke Red Marlboro always have done. Now I’m desperate to given up again I can’t not while I’m listening to Jack spark up at every available opportunity. So my plan is to finish the rest of these books then give up again. Not really a book review this passage of writing was it? Ah well speak next time kid.
