About this listen

Caroline Abbott loves her job - helping engaged couples pick out the perfect save-the-date cards and invitations for their dream wedding. Working at Noteworthy means she has to deal with the occasional bridezilla, but Caroline’s always up for the challenge.

Until one particular bridezilla walks into the stationery store whose fiancé happens to be the boy Caroline shared her first kiss with. Alexander Wilder is all grown up now, helping run his family’s successful luxury hotel chain, and is somehow even better looking than she remembers.

When Caroline just happens to catch Alex’s fiancée half naked with another man, well, of course she has to tell Alex. Of course, he breaks off his engagement. And of course, the ex-bridezilla has gone completely bonkers.

At least Caroline has her friends to save her from crazy ex-fiancées. But she also has the sudden interest of...Alex? Caroline knows they share a connection, but is he on the rebound? Or after seeing her all these years later, does he really want something more?

I was wanting to listen to a gentle book and that’s just what this one is. Caroline is very nice and underestimates herself at times. Alex is used to doing as his family wants and is a workaholic. As a result of Alex’s broken engagement he needs Caroline’s help, the result of which determine their future. The book isn’t rocking in drama, but has some tension built into the plot, and seems believable. Having the two narrators to give both characters’ point of view worked very well.

Monica Murphy knocks it out if the park again!!

This book was another fine example of her ability in this genre, and whilst she has written a lot of books, they are interesting and likeable enough not to feel churned out or overly manufactured.

This is a standalone, but the characters and locations are mentioned in the other books.
I think it is a series, about a group of friends who so far, all have their own romance story book.
This is a really comfortable listen/read. The narrators are great, there is a bit of depth and back story and a good amount of 🔥🔥🔥. Not overtly pornographic or unrealistic.
The characters and settings are realistic and interesting. If a book is well written like these, I find myself Googling unfamiliar areas like ‘Carmel by the sea’ in this book, because the writer made it sound a beautiful place, and as a person who loves to visit new places, it’s great to learn about areas I would possibly never hear of or visit. Some funny moments included too.
This book and others by this author, are the sort of books that make you feel happy after listening or reading. They leave you with a warm fuzzy contentment and are perfect example of this type/genre.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

5⭐️ Again for another brilliant MM BOOK 👍

It looks like the author cannot decide whether the protagonists are classy or cheesy. They get on their high horses and then go tumbling down.

Predictable

The story was sweet if a little predictable.
The voice artists had pleasant voices and tried to perform the different characters with a slight change in intonation. Unfortunately, the male artist was that successful at portraying the female protagonist. The way he altered his voice made it seem as if he was mocking her whiny tone. I doubt that’s what he was intending and the copy didn’t read whiny in my opinion. I found it a little confusing as it felt like a layer to the male character that wasn’t really there. A bit of a ‘looking down on her’.

Voice artist intonation a little off at times

I love the story and the humour. I have to admit this audio book made my day!

Totally entertaining!

Story was great, the female narrative was spot on but the male narrative of Caroline was dreadful, she sounded so beefy, camp, awful.

Great story

This is a fab feel good book to loose yourself in. Very enjoyable. I loved it.

Easy listen

in chapter 8 - 9 there was a continuity error if you like when she was wearing "pants", that later turned into a "skirt". the whole thing was a bit cringeworthy and the female doing the male voice bits and vise versa was just odd. Also the use of the word "buoying", which was pronounced as "booing" twice!

mistakes and odd voices

This book was by a new author to me. This is due to the free books that Amazon / audible have for members. I thoroughly enjoyed the.story line. However call me a prude I really didn’t think there was a news for such detailed sex scenes well chapters only a couple and I skipped those. I wasn’t a huge fan of the readers but that’s not the authors fault all in all I’d give it 9/10.

Kept me Listening.
