About this listen
Caroline Abbott loves her job - helping engaged couples pick out the perfect save-the-date cards and invitations for their dream wedding. Working at Noteworthy means she has to deal with the occasional bridezilla, but Caroline’s always up for the challenge.
Until one particular bridezilla walks into the stationery store whose fiancé happens to be the boy Caroline shared her first kiss with. Alexander Wilder is all grown up now, helping run his family’s successful luxury hotel chain, and is somehow even better looking than she remembers.
When Caroline just happens to catch Alex’s fiancée half naked with another man, well, of course she has to tell Alex. Of course, he breaks off his engagement. And of course, the ex-bridezilla has gone completely bonkers.
At least Caroline has her friends to save her from crazy ex-fiancées. But she also has the sudden interest of...Alex? Caroline knows they share a connection, but is he on the rebound? Or after seeing her all these years later, does he really want something more?

Easy romance

This book was another fine example of her ability in this genre, and whilst she has written a lot of books, they are interesting and likeable enough not to feel churned out or overly manufactured.
This is a standalone, but the characters and locations are mentioned in the other books.
I think it is a series, about a group of friends who so far, all have their own romance story book.
This is a really comfortable listen/read. The narrators are great, there is a bit of depth and back story and a good amount of 🔥🔥🔥. Not overtly pornographic or unrealistic.
The characters and settings are realistic and interesting. If a book is well written like these, I find myself Googling unfamiliar areas like ‘Carmel by the sea’ in this book, because the writer made it sound a beautiful place, and as a person who loves to visit new places, it’s great to learn about areas I would possibly never hear of or visit. Some funny moments included too.
This book and others by this author, are the sort of books that make you feel happy after listening or reading. They leave you with a warm fuzzy contentment and are perfect example of this type/genre.

Predictable

The voice artists had pleasant voices and tried to perform the different characters with a slight change in intonation. Unfortunately, the male artist was that successful at portraying the female protagonist. The way he altered his voice made it seem as if he was mocking her whiny tone. I doubt that’s what he was intending and the copy didn’t read whiny in my opinion. I found it a little confusing as it felt like a layer to the male character that wasn’t really there. A bit of a ‘looking down on her’.
Voice artist intonation a little off at times
