About this listen

Of all the Legiones Astartes, the White Scars of Jaghatai Khan remain the most enigmatic and elusive. Born of a civilisation that prizes honour, speed and fearsome loyalty, their allegiance has yet remained unclear even as the galaxy is torn apart by Horus' treachery, and both sides have apparently counted them among their potential allies in the war to come.

But when the Alpha Legion launch an unexplained and simultaneous attack against the White Scars and Space Wolves, the Khan must decide once and for all whether he will stand with the Emperor or the Warmaster...or neither.

One of the best books in the Horus Heresy, highly recommended to anyone interested in the Horus Heresy and the White Scars!

Excellent

Zero dislikes at all. While the story is complex in parts the narrator does a stellar job!

What a performance by the reader. Amazing

The White Scars perspective was a refreshingly different point of view. Loved the turmoil within the legion

Refreshing!

I actually skipped this one but went back to it after a few books - and thank god I did. This is a really good addition to the HH series, and probably in my top five. First proper close up look at the WS, and fills in a nice gap. I blasted through it very quickly. Some awesome primarch content here, and the perspective of everything unfolding from the WS pov - and doesn’t labour on old ground too much either, but paces it really well. A nice mortal character in it as well. As with all the HH books it has an excellent and rewarding climax.

Only thing I’d criticise sometimes is the production, how it skips too quickly into another plot line and you need a moment to understand that it’s changed to another characters story. I wish they’d take a bit more of a breath before doing that. However, not a major issue.

Do not skip - Essential and gripping White Scars and Primarch lore

Great insights into one of my favourite chapters. Brilliant narration as well. One of the better titles in the series.

White Scars finally join the fray

The narrator is such a breath of fresh air, love the way he represented the Chigorians and the Terrans. The story was suspenseful throughout. One of my favourites so far

Great narration

The narration is vey good and the story is enjoyable. Not too much boring fighting. I struggled a bit at times following everything as it jumps about a bit. There were a lot of good moments.

Better story telling than most 40k

I wasn't too sure about this one as I don't know much about the scars but it was easily the one I've enjoyed the most in the series so far. Story and performance are fantastic, definitely worth a listen.

Best so far

Finally the Khan and his White Scars get some recognition.
My main complaint is that the story moved a bit slowly at times, which is funny considering the Legion in focus.
Still a great listen!

Ironic

The khan went from a total unknown to one of my favourite primarchs. A brilliant book which really emphasises the stress of the choice of the lodges. Highly recommend.

Astoundingly good
