About this listen
Three murders. Three innocent victims. What secrets did they share with their killer?
A bottle of bubble bath and colorful, plastic boats were scattered in small puddles on the floor. In the bathtub lay Linda Upton, fully-clothed, her lips a shade of blue, and her bloodshot eyes wide open.
When a young mother is found drowned in the bath, clutching a receipt saying 'all debts paid', Detective Robyn Carter knows it's just the beginning of a harrowing case. She recognizes the signs of a serial killer, and when a second victim with a receipt is found, her worst fears are confirmed.
With the local press whipping the public into a frenzy, Robyn is under pressure to solve the crime yesterday. But her team can't find a link between the two bodies, and the cracks are starting to show.
With the local press whipping the public into a frenzy, Robyn is under pressure to solve the crime yesterday. But her team can't find a link between the two bodies, and the cracks are starting to show.
The press call him The Leopard for his stealth, speed, and brutality. Can Robyn stop the most twisted killer of her career before it's too late?
A heart-pounding, toe-curling, one-sitting serial killer thriller that will hook you from the first minute till the last. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott, and Karin Slaughter.

Good storyline
I enjoyed this book as I did the first. The Narrater is a little annoying. Her lack of enthusiasm while reading makes the listen not as enjoyable as it should be! Also the words Gas and Plastic are mispronounce, which was irritating. The story itself was great and the book is so well written so it’s a shame the narrator lets the review down.

Painful Narration
The story was good, a little drawn out but that could be due to the narrator, she's really bad. The narration isn't natural and makes it a hard listen, authors need to think carefully about narrators as it can make or break a story, carol wyer is an amazing writer and the narrator for the Natalie ward series was great but this narration was disappointing to say the least and takes away from the story but try and stick with it because the story is great.

Great stories
The characters are believable, the stories are plausible and well plotted. I like hearing the back stories of the police officers, and their interactions with one another. I find the narrator immensely irritating, she doesn’t talk naturally at all, and her accents aren’t brilliant. It’s sometimes really hard to work out which character is talking. She should listen to her own narration and adjust accordingly. I’m only sticking with the series because the stories are so good.

*Riveting*
This is book 2 of 5 of the Detective Robyn Carter Series. This is a book that once I started to read it was hard to put it down. The Carol Wyer books that I have read so far seem to draw me in.
In this instalment we see Robyn trying to follow her gut instincts and it does not always go to plan. Ever since her personal tragedy, she has been a bit off her game.
There is a serial killer out there and his calling card seems to be receipts to the value of 250k. What is the significance of the figure? None of the victims have any debts..
Robyn and her team are working around the clock to catch the killer. Robyn quite often views her cases like a puzzle. She desperately tries to find out if the victims are connected and each time there is another victim a new receipt shows Robyn her connection.
The pressure is mounting from her boss and there is another DI who is looking to swoop in and claim the glory.
There is a running commentary from the killer and once Robyn understands the reason and motive behind the murders, she has to take a chance in order to move in on her suspect. Will her gut pull through for her as she races towards a nail biting conclusion.

Awful narration
tbh I've no idea if the story is any good because I had to turn the book off after about an hour... an excruciating listen.

Good story let down by narrator
The narrator is abysmal!
Sooooo slow and monotone.
I shan’t be purchasing anymore books read by her.
Story was very good though.
