About this listen
Have you ever wondered how and why the animals came to be as they are? In these magical tales, drawn from stories he heard as a child in India as well as on folk traditions he later collected all over the world, Rudyard Kipling gives some wonderfully imaginative explanations.
This selection includes 'The Beginning of the Armadillos', 'The Cat that Walked by Himself', and 'The Butterfly that Stamped'. Originally told by Rudyard Kipling for his own children, these witty, fanciful tales have been loved by generations of children ever since.

Best book ever!
Amazing.
I loved the imagination of the book.
It only needs more precision in the chapters.

No bookshelf is complete without this one!
This is one of my childhood favourites, and the narrator tells the wonderful stories with plenty of colour and vigour. I can't imagine a young mind not being enthralled by this book.

Beautiful rendition of a classic set of tales.
These classic tales are read by the master of animal stories in a way that appeals to both adults and children . These are fairy tales and fables that have been stimulating the imagination of generations and this production does much to promote this worthy tradition.

Lovely kids stories
What made the experience of listening to The Complete Just So Stories the most enjoyable?
How the elephant got its trunk, even if its fairly sadistic and strange. I really like the fact that he was so curious and wanted to know so much, yet "society" was keeping him down. The fact he had the strength so walk his own path hit close to home
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Complete Just So Stories?
Ive always been a big fan of old fairy tales and stories so no but it was exactly what I wanted
Have you listened to any of Johnny Morris’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I would assume it would work perfectly with kids, but I felt it was a bit too over dramatized
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
A bit heavy on the dramatization but overall great
Any additional comments?
Think this is a great collection of stories and would be a perfect match with kids. Really enjoyed it!

The Best
Johnny Morris still has the very best voice for reading any stories about animals, much better than I could ever do myself when reading stories to my own children, so now I take real pleasure from listening together with my grandchildren to the inimical Johnny Morris myself; and there are not manny children's stories which even the grown-ups really enjoy listening to.

Exceptional narration
The narrator really brought charm and character to the stories, as well as humour. I especially enjoyed the camel and the cat voices. Entertaining stories. I will also note that while this says unabridged, it doesn't include the little poems which come after every story (at least in my penguin edition) and there is also a chapter missing about the creation of the alphabet, but it is explained that this is due to the chapter needing the pictures that go with it.

Just so good
What more could you want than Johnny Morris reading animal stories, it took me back to 70's TV and Animal Magic.
Kids liked it too
