Summary

A tormented dragon prince. A captured elven assassin. Duty demands they fight for their people, but love has other plans.

Eroan, one of the last elven assassins, lives for one purpose: Kill the queen.

He would have succeeded if not for her last line of defense: Prince Lysander. Now, captured and forced into the queen's harem, Eroan sees another opportunity. Why kill just the queen when he can kill them all? It would be simple, if not for the troubled and alluring dragon prince. A warrior, a killer, and something else...something Eroan finds himself inexplicably drawn to.

Good solid fanfiction

If you are looking for a LGBT fantasy this is a good about. It’s very character driven story telling I.e. there’s not huge amounts of world building. Not the greatest writing in the world and can be repetitive at times. Suffered from a lot of telling now showing. But it’s solid none the less. Got major fan-fiction vibes!

Breathing Taking Saga

Fantasy is not usually my go to genre so when this was released on audible I wasn’t immediately drawn to it. However as it was highly recommended to me I decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I did.
Ariana Nash has skilfully crafted a fantasy world of Dragons 🐉, Elves and humans that is dark and twisted yet still full of friendship and hope.
Our two tortured heroes, Eroen the Eleven assassin and Lysander, the Amethyst dragon prince endure abuse and brutality, manipulation and the hand of fate, throughout the first part of this saga.
A word of warning, there’s no happy ending in this book but this just whets your appetite for more and I can’t wait for the next book Silk and Steel #2: Iron & Fire to be released on audible.

love it

only thing I didnt like was the plot convenience, characters missing each by inches other for the sake of it kind of annoyed me

Unexpectedly Captivating

When I first started this book shock was the main emotion. It is brutal and I wasn’t quite expecting it to be so graphic however as one chapter turned into another you get sucked in. It’s so fascinating and the story makes you want to never stop. I found myself wanting to shout at the characters who you can’t help but fall in love with. It is definitely different to what I normal go for but it is now ranking up high with all my great reads. Can’t wait to start book two! A very unexpectedly captivating story!

Fantastic story but characters lacked depth

Fantastic plot, original idea and twist on the usual dragon and elf lore, so all of that kept me reading. Cornell Collins is also always a lure to stay engaged, his performance never disappoints. But unfortunately the characters lacked depth and a therefore as a reader I really struggled to connect with, to relate and therefore I wasn’t interested enough in routing for them. I almost finished the book so that’s something… but unfortunately I will not be continuing with the series.

Silk and Steel review

Starts off a bit bumpy but develops into a beautiful and kmplez story with very impressive worldbuilding. Very well narrated.

Absolutely phenomenal!!!!

Okay, I'm not one for reviews but this has hands down become the best audible book I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.

The story is incredibly written, the author transports you to a new world which simply takes your breath away.

I originally wanted to indulge this book as a fan of mxm romance but feel in love with the fantasy and the action, the romance become a lovely extra.

The narrator was exceptional. Oh my God, I don't think the author could've found better for this story.

I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE SECOND BOOK.

I gave this book four stars because…

I like that the injury’s were described enough that I could image them and the pain they might cause, they made my chest tight but they were not overly described to the point that I could no longer listen with out wincing or wanting to stop the book. The main reason I give the book a four star instead of a five star was because one or two the voice the Reader used for the charters were hard to listen to and there fore i had to replay some lines. However this was only with minor characters so the book altogether was easy to understand.

Brutal, good, slow

The adult scenes in this is are very brutal. I found the book good, but very annoying in the slow pacing of the ‘near misses’. Lots of moments of wanting them to just get on with the next bit of the plot. However, I’ll definitely be listening to the next book, as the characters are great.
