Impressive

I have to say that I was expecting something more childish, and I don't mean it in the wrong way.
This book treats teenagers like grown-ups, taking them seriously. It prepares them for very healthy money habits, like budgeting. If they learn these tips and put them into practice, by the time they grow up and start working with a regular income, they will not slip into debt, or at least they will have all the tools for managing their money properly and know what they can afford and how to think long term.
I wish someone had handed me this book when I was a teen. It's very useful, full of valuable information, and provides the fundamentals for kids to understand money better.

it was a hit!

I decided to give this audibook a listen with my 13-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son, and honestly, it was a hit! The narrator’s upbeat and clear voice made the 90 minutes feel engaging, and both of my kids actually seemed to pay attention. My son, who usually zones out during "serious" topics, was surprisingly interested when the audiobook explained how to manage money from his allowance and even how taxes work. He said, "I didn’t know taxes were so complicated!" My daughter, on the other hand, loved the part about setting goals for saving, and she even started brainstorming what she’d want to save for.

That said, while they both enjoyed it, the style can get a little too playful at times—especially for my son, who’s almost 15. He said, "It feels like it's for younger kids," but still agreed it was useful. Overall, it’s a great intro to financial concepts without being too heavy. I’d recommend it if you're trying to give your teen a basic understanding of money without overwhelming them.

A Great Starting Point for any Teen

This book does an amazing job of breaking down complex financial concepts into simple, relatable lessons that 13- and 14-year-olds can easily grasp. It’s perfect for giving kids a solid foundation in budgeting, saving, and even investing - which is something most of us wish we’d learned sooner!

What stands out is how interactive it is. The real-life examples and activities really help make the lessons stick. I love how it touches on practical skills like managing income from allowances or jobs, plus it introduces bigger concepts like taxes and credit in a way that’s not intimidating.

One thing I wish was done a little differently is the storytelling approach. It’s engaging, but sometimes it feels a bit too childish for older teens. That said, it’s still a fantastic resource.

I think that if you’re looking for a way to teach your teen about money without overwhelming them, this book is exactly what you need. It’s a great starting point for any teen learning about money for the first time, and I highly recommend it.
