This is an excellent story with Pratchett at his best. The performance significantly enhances the book, so that even readers familiar with the story can enjoy the retelling. Highly recommended!

Once more Sir Samuel Vimes travels on holiday ordered by the highest authority, Lady Sybil and finds, as per usual, that crime has gotten there first! Whilst Young Sam discovers the fascinating world of poo, his father uncovers a slave trade, a drug trade and a hideous murder. Intelligently funny, satirical and action packed! Well worth the 5 stars I've given.

I flipping love the men at arms series of the disc world books and John culshaw brings them to life brilliantly.
I pop the old audible on when I'm in the car to while away a journey or at work sometimes if it permits. I often listen via headphones whilst I'm cooking in the kitchen or if my wife starts t.alking to me about her bad knee or mum, actually if I'm honest my kids really push my buttons as well so a hilarious Culshaw over lay as I watch those spoilt brats arguing and making a mess gets me through.
You're probably reading this thinking that this man is a distant husband and a terrible father and you'd be right. I love them, don't get me wrong, but not a day goes by that I don't think about that gap year summer in Argentina with Fitzpatrick...

Forgive me, I digress.

Wonderful, gritty and still absolutely hilarious. Vimes back in action and honestly I love it. It’s a fitting last book for he commander. Vimes and Sybil are a true match made in heaven and she is so kick ass. Young Sam is awesome and honestly TP has done it again. I don’t think there’s been a book about Vimes where I haven’t cried at the beautiful writing and sensitive attention to detail of the character.

Having listened to the audio books in order, it has been interesting to see how the mindset of Vines has evolved and the way he has dealt with his inner turmoil.
