Summary

"Where am I?" The first thought that crosses your mind when you wake. In the total darkness, there comes a voice....

She could be your only hope for survival. She could be your captor, your manipulator. One man's search for the truth will take him to the depths of inner space. One man's fight for survival will take us all to the edge of extinction....

An event worth witnessing

I found this story a most enjoyable and engaging listen. It is well considered, paced and presented. The voice actors are very good which is just as well as this is a performance piece rather than narrative. It is closer to a play or film, which sits well with its easily digestible run time of two hours.

The tale is driven by the well written dialogue which is unhindered by superfluous narrative. This and the music provide a sense of suspense and intrigue which easily holds your interest. The effect is also heightened by the sense of 'solitude', isolation and separateness the characters experience. We are almost as lost, alone and in the dark as they are.

When listening to this I was reminded of other Sci-fi stories such as 'Minority Report' by Philip K. Dick and 'Solaris' by Stanislaw Lem. There is a similar sense of confusion, disconnection and isolation.

It was also redolent of the first book of 'The Gap' sequence by Stephen R. Donaldson - 'The Gap into Conflict: The Real Story'. They both set the stage for what is to come and leave you wanting more. I thoroughly recommend giving this a go, and am eagerly awaiting part two.
