About this listen
Trapped between worlds. Potentia might be the way out. Time to kill Something.
Luke is an apprentice leather worker, training with his family to one day take over the business. He and his friends Andre, Taylor, and Zed have known each other forever, and swear that nothing will ever tear apart their friendship.
Then the Royal Decree comes. With the Dynasty of Dogs invading, and strange monsters appearing in the Hollow Kingdom, a draft has been implemented. Everyone 17 or older is required to be tested for "Potential". If they have it, they will join the mysterious and renowned Ascender Corps. If not, they will be drafted into the Legion as a forced recruit.
Three of the friends test as powerful, or dangerous, classes of Ascender. Luke is found to have Potential, barely, but when he steps through the portal to begin his training…he is pulled to a plane that shouldn't exist. With no class trainer, the possibility of survival is low. Luke decides that he wants to live, and keeping his humanity isn't going to help.
His best chance is going Full Murderhobo.

Hilariously brilliant and ultimately entertaining
The litrpg features are non intrusive and the story as a whole flows really well. The concepts involved are brilliant and I can’t wait to see how it evolves.

Got better to the end
Kinda got bored and it started to lose me at the halfway point…then it got better. Was going to get a refund but now I’m going to get the second book.
Dakota Krout is one of them writers you have to stick with to the end and then judge the book on the completed story.

Great book
With the lyrical impact of a suttering bard, Dakota has provided a haymaker of a story.
Dakota had definitely provided fathoms of potential for this world, which has been superbly served by a superb lyrical chef Christian.
I especially liked the bloopers, 'stone spikes', priceless.
thanks folks

Unique world(s) and characters
This story is amazing, the MCs are entertaining and unique, they all follow different classes and all have distinct personalities. The world or world's, the multiverse is known and travelled across, provide a stimulus for great material as each home different monsters and surroundings. Also this book contains the puns, jokes and humor as seen in DK's other books. Finally the narrator did a fab job and I hope he continues to narrate as he has an excellent voice

Fun & well written
I was dubious of this book because of it's title, I was worried it'd be messy with not enough plot/story.
As always with Dakota the power system made sense and was simple, the characters felt like real people and I liked who they are and what they did.
I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys fantasy with a bit of game logic.
You should listen to this book, you will fully agree and enjoy with how Luke(main character) reacts to his situation.
Being a murderhobo now sounds like a fun idea.
(listen to this book it's great)

Good fun
I read a lot of lit rpg and I though this was pretty good! Original ideas, brilliant narration, funny characters, silly moments, epic battles. A nice, easy listen for fans of the genre. Will definitely get the next in the series.
