Summary
The Night Lords - traitors and killers who use fear as a weapon - face threats from within and without as they struggle to rebuild their Legion and continue to fight the Long War.
Listen to it because:
It's an assured and confident second novel from Aaron Dembski-Bowden that kicks off one of the most acclaimed and beloved series in Black Library history - and it's a chance to see the Long War from the Night Lords' perspective!
The story:
The Night Lords were once among the most potent forces of the Imperium, Space Marines who used fear itself as their weapon. Now, cast adrift from the Emperor's light and hunted as heretics after their monstrous betrayal, the Night Lords clad themselves in symbols of death and fight the Long War, bringing pain and terror to all who worship the corpse-god of Terra.
A summons from Warmaster Abaddon sends these rebels on a dangerous journey that leads inexorably to a conflict with the Emperor's chosen warriors, the Blood Angels.
Written by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. Running time 13 hours and 5 minutes. Narrated by Andrew Wincott.

great book shame about the acting
Love this book must of read it 6 times this year alone. First claw are great but the voice acting leaves a lot to be desired. Septimus is not a bumbling idiot by any means it was really disappointing to hear him portrayed as one when he’s a smart individual. If they had used a better budget like in throne of lies this would of been amazing. The story itself is not in question here it’s just the narrators performance

Gory to the end
As you might expect from ADB this book is dark and grim on every level from the interaction between characters to the violence of action there is no hope, there is only horror and darkness, the narration is outstanding one of the best WH narrators I have heard so far

An absolute rollercoaster
I collected night lords as a teenager so I thought I’d give the audio book a go and was not disappointed! The character development in soul hunter is sheer brilliance and I’m invested in multiple characters! My hope is the other books in the series do this justice!

A good start
This trilogy is legendary among the Warhammer community. This book has given me a little taste of that legend, but hasn't grasped me like everyone said it will. Yet, that is.

The Beginning of one of the Best series in 40K
Aaron Dembski-Bowden does it again!
Making me care for some of the most evil individuals in Warhammer, people that happily skin others alive for the lols and yet I care for them, getting me to emphasize with murders at the age of 10, thanks to the cursed world they were born on.
Ave Dominus Nox!
